As the two are travelling on the way to the Kingdom, they felt bad if they had made a wrong decision. After all Gabriel was their friend and their Prince. They felt a sense of responsibility and asked themselves why did Gabriel had to sent them off? Was he really determined to break the law and not drag us into it? They kept wondering and sometimes changed their minds to go back for Gabriel but they had to make it back to the kingdom before Gabriel finishes he's quest in finding his wife.
As nightfall came and the two pitched a tent for their shelter they also started a campfire to warm their bodies for it was very cold in the night. As they were sleeping they heard a noise crept up from the woods and suddenly a woman appeared. She seemed lost and helpless she was just a commoner like the others. The men let the girl stay with them for the night with an agreement of not betraying their trust. She agreed with them she noticed these men were handsome and of royal blood. She slept through night soundly, the men knew she was weary and tired of getting out of the woods.
As morning came the men introduced themselves to the woman after spending the night with them. The first one introduced himself to be Jacob the Duke. The second one introduced himself to Gareth the Great, the woman also introduced herself to the men. Her name was Clarisse she was only strolling around the woods playing with herself suddenly she didn't she was lost. Jacob and Gareth asked Clarisse where she is heading. She answered that she is heading for the city of Meridia, they once again put her in their company. Jacob immediately became friends with her, he seemed to like her she wasn't that gorgeous. But she was beautiful nonetheless. Gareth however talked to her very little avoiding any long conversations for he did not knew her.
They neared the city they were met by swarms of guards asking them where is the Prince? Jacob answered, "The Prince was never with us." The guard answered back, "Do you not know that we saw three strangers leave the city just two days ago?" Gareth couldn't help it no more so he spoke and unafraid of what might happen accepted the punishment that would befall whatever it may be for there was no doubt these men knew that the Prince was with them.
Suddenly the royal advisor of the king rushed in and ordered these men freed, so the guards obeyed and let the men loose. Jacob thanked the advisor of the king before he left them. So the trio went inside the city looking for a place to stay the night before planning anything.Gareth noticed Clarisse still hasn't left the company he asked her why she hadn't.
Gareth scowled and said, "I see your still with us why haven't you left?"
Clarisse replied, " I couldn't.......uhhh"
Gareth: Couldn't what?
Suddenly Jacob rushed to save Clarisse from Gareth's cruel treatment of women for he was always irritated at the sight of women.
Jacob said to Gareth, "Let it go Gareth I will be the one to take care of her. I know you hate women the sight of them makes you sick." (Laughs)
Gareth angrily said, "I don't hate women they just intend to irritate me. That's why its too hard for me to find any woman!"
Jacob replied smiling, "Well you should have asked Gabriel to bring you along. He might be enjoying the time of his life." (Chuckles)
The trio went towards the inn and stayed there for the night. Meanwhile Clarisse wad getting fond of Jacob and she began starting to like him more than anything else. Jacob also was attracted to her he felt a mutual understanding between them. He thought maybe the fates brought them together. Gareth was sitting on his bed not feeling sleepy or weary. He wss thinking about his life why was it hard for him to like girls personally. After all he is a noble he was quite sure it would be easy enough for a noble to marry. But that wasn't the case for him he seemed to be only interested of sticking only to one girl his entire life in the good or the bad.
Gareth said, "Jacob may I ask you something personal?"
Jacob gladly said, "Ask away my friend."
Gareth whispered saying, "Why is it so hard for me to fall in love? Is there no one for me?"
Jacob laughed then said, "Of course there is, maybe you just haven't found her yet."
Gareth feeling lonely replied, "You really think there is someone for me? Thank you!"
Jacob happily said, "Of course I do! All men should marry even you!"
Jacob and Gareth both wondered who they will marry they realized it was difficult to choose. They thought even being friends with the Prince all girls would just come chasing them but it was not certainly the case. Love was not simply about girls chasing men around or that its about kissing, hugging and different sorta things. Love was showig compassion and care especially love is about sacrifice.
Clarisse listened to the conversation these men were talking about. She wondered how could these fine men not be married or even courting a woman. She realized they weren't the same as other men who look at girls with lust contemptously. These men were simply looking for true love not just for time but forever. So Clarisse lay in her bed admiring the trait and moral views of these men for it was rare to find it nowadays. She slept through the night dreaming of the future these men might have.
