Chapter 10: Jacob Falls In Love

           Jacob took Clarisse away to be with her, he after all was the bravest amongst them when it comes to courting women. He never got choked when saying words to women he doesn't even blush unlike his friends. Clarisse was delighted to be with Jacob for he was simply an amazing fellow. Jacob had the all the character a woman would want with a man, he is very humble and gentle. He also is sweet and funny she thought, somehow Clarisse wondered if he ever thought of her that way. How she wished he would for it will bring great joy for her.

          It was nightfall and very dark in the kingdom only the moon gave light. Jacob and Clarisse spent their time walking together with the moon shone upon them. Jacob started to talk to Clarisse now they are alone together he saw it was the best time to know her. 

"So who really are you?", Jacob asked.

"I am Clarisse you already know my name why do you still ask?", she replied.

"One does not know by name alone it is the character and personality that defines an individual", he replied.

        Clarisse was astonished and impressed by the knowledge and wisdom of Jacob. He really is something nothing like ordinary he is very unique than most men are. How she wished the man she would love would be like him. Clarisse was afraid to answer Jacob's question for she was simply a poor girl only that is why she never answered Gareth of why she hasn't left. But now she has to confess what her true intentions are. So she mustered all courage she could muster for there was no way out this anymore.

"I am Clarisse a simple beggar sir."

Jacob surprised of what she said, "Why didn't you tell me? But you don't look like a beggar with that beauty."

Clarisse still ashamed of what she is said, "I thank you kindly sir for your compliment but I am of lowly stature"

Jacob answered back saying, "High or low it does not matter to me what matters is the character of the person despite the position"

           Clarisse felt glad that Jacob has accepted her like the others. He treated her nicely and fairly he did not even try to belittle her. Instead Jacob actually felt a liking to her something in her he saw magic that mesmerized his heart. Clarisse tried to ask Jacob indirectly questions she knows must not be asked.

"Sir will you be able to like a woman of my stature?"

Jacob laughed and said, "Of course, love is not bound by titles or noble rights. It is only bound by free will if you choose to love". He paused and continued, "Why do you ask anyway? Also don't call me sir call me by my name."

Clarisse replied, "Alright I will address you as Jacob and treat you like others."

Jacob humbly said, "You know what, I kinda like you actually ever since we met I don't know why."

"Maybe your just thinking you like me but you don't like me", she said back.

Jacob chuckled then said,"May be your right or wrong whatever this feeling maybe I am going to chase it till reality."

           Clarisse was shocked but full of joy due to what Jacobhad said. Did he really mean it? Would he even go so far to like her or even love her? Clarisse brushed all thoughts aside and said to herself, "Wake up Clarisse for there is no hope for your dream"

       The night was now so deep the two decided to return to the village. Jacob had a terrific time with Clarisse even though it wasn't that sweet. But to Clarisse she never felt more happy to be admired by someone who is of noble birth. As they arrived at the inn Gabriel feeling worried and weary after hours of waiting had felt a sigh of relief. He saw Clarisse and Jacob enter the inn unscathed he was glad nothingbad had happen. Gareth was also delighted to see his friend alright but to Clarisse he still felt bitterness towards her.

        Gareth immediately asked still wondering why this woman hasn't left their company.

He said, "Why do keep on staying do you have no place to?"

  

      Clarisse did not answer she was ashamed of herself especially if she told Gareth what she really is. Suddenly a strong voice filled with concern and love was heard.

Jacob humbly said, "I will be the one to take full responsibily of her from now on do not ever ask her to leave"

Gareth replied calmly, "If that is your wish my friend so be it may it bring you joy."

Jacob answered saying, "I promise you it will give me great joy"

        Clarisse felt more delighted and comforted about Jacob. She wanted to thank him but he immediately went upstairs to rest. After all it was already dark and the night was now so deep. Clarisse went to her room thinking why Jacob defended her? Could it really be possible that he felt a liking to her? Clarisse instantly shrugged all of this thoughts in her mind for she knew it was only her imagination.

       Jacob layed there on his bed thinking about Clarisse he wondered why did he felt a liking to this woman. Who was she to him? What traits or deeds has she done for him? Jacob kept thinking on and on till he realized what he liked her for. He liked Clarisse for her humble ways she never looked to herself as high she had always put herself down. Jacob felt she was attractive despite her clothes as a poor woman. He wondered what could he do for her.

     Gabriel and Gareth were still up and not yet in bed they were talking and figuring out where the heck could Jacob had gone.

Gabriel wondering and puzzled said, "Why would he go out Clarisse alone?"

"Maybe he wanted to know her?", Gareth replied.

Gabriel said, "I don't think that is the case here he actually looks at the girl with a different spark in his eyes."

Gareth laughed saying, "Spark? What jibberish are you talking about Gabe maybe you have been in love too much."

"Gareth I am serious I think he finds that Clarisse attractive don't you think?", Gabriel replied.

Gareth feeling already tired and sleepy said, "Alright you win! Tomorrow let us find out and please call that Jane friend of yours."

Gabriel said, "Alright, alright easy no need to get all pumped up and excited sleep already sheeh!"

          So the two went to sleep having already planned what to do tomorrow for the day. They plan to ask Jacob who his love is after all they were now all looking for their match. Could it be that Jacob has finally fallen in love.
