"Choose your weapon carefully. You'll be fighting with it for the rest of your life."
"Shut up Bri. They're freaking water guns."
The others laughed as Haylee rolled her eyes and picked up the neon green water weapon. She jogged back to the group and waited. Madison stepped onto the box and cleared her throat.
"Okay! The rules are simple. If you get shot, you're out. No magic! Last person standing wins."
With that she hopped off and ran. Everyone else copied and ran off into separate directions. Haylee quickly glanced around to see the general directions in which her friends ran off, but dove for cover when shots of water came at her. She ducked behind a wall of boxes and peeked out. Princey and Maddie had teamed up and were working together for the time being. They fired at Haylee.
She quickly moved back behind the boxes. The duo continued firing at her. Haylee waited until they seemed to stop.
That's when she rolled out and shot them both smack in the face.
"Okay, okay! We're out," they yelled.
"Ha Ha! Losers!"
Maddie and Princey solemnly walked out and set the guns down. Haylee shook both. They were almost empty. She left them and went off in search for the rest of her friends. She spotted Haydee a few feet away, back turned. She smiled devilishly to herself. It was too easy. Haylee crept up behind Haydee, softly and careful not to make noise. She fired at her friends back and Haydee spun around.
"You're out," she grinned.
"Ugh, no fair!"
Haylee checked her friend's gun. It was still pretty full. She swapped it out for hers and continued in search of the rest of the group.
~
Brianna watched as Haylee crept around, looking for other players. It was just too damn easy. Brianna sprung out and fired at Haylee. The water hit her back, making Haylee wince slightly. She spun around and growled at the sight of Brianna.
"Really Bri? Holy water? Child's play. Try something a little stronger next time."
"Easy there tiger," Bri laughed, "you're just mad I got you out."
Haylee rolled her eyes, setting down her weapon. Bri shook the gun. It was still full enough. She swapped this one out for her old one. She'd already shot out Tiffany. That took a lot of water.
"Thanks for the gun hooch."
"Yeah whatever."
Brianna continued walking. It was pretty boring in the halls. They had set up some boxes and crates a few hours ago giving the players more coverage during the game. It also made the game much more difficult.
Footsteps echoed behind Bri. She dove behind a small column of crates. Fern ran past. Bri sprung up once again and shot Fern's back. Fern groaned and slowly turned around.
"Damn it."
Bri laughed. "Sorry hoochie!"
Her friend set the gun down and jogged off to join the others. Bri patted their back as they ran off. She wondered how many were left. She had already eliminated Haylee, Tiffany, and Fern. She had seen Haylee eliminate Haydee, along with Princey and Maddie. That just left her, Gema, and Clarissa. Should be easy.
~
Gema stepped out cautiously, searching left to right for signs of anyone. When there were none, she scurried to a wall opposite her. The sound of water sloshing in a gun sounded through the hall. She silently peeked out between the pieces of wood in the wall. Brianna was walking by, and Gema could see Clarissa hiding up on a box, aiming at Bri. She steadied and pointed her gun at Clarissa. Water shot out, making Clarissa squeal in surprise. Brianna looked up and shot at her too.
"Okay! I get it! I'm out."
"Haha hoochie."
Bri helped Clarissa off the boxes and gave her a high five.
Gema aimed her gun again, this time at Bri. She waited until Bri turned. Water once again flew out, spraying Brianna.
Brianna shrieked in surprise.
"Gema you hoochie!"
"Bri you thot!"
They laughed and shot more water at each other.
"Hey, I have an idea." Gema whispered in Brianna's ear, and Bri smiled.
~
Haylee sighed. It was tiring waiting for everyone to get out. Clarissa had just walked in and set her gun down.
"Anyone else bored," Haylee asked.
They nodded their heads.
"Me too."
They sat there another two minutes until Haylee heard a shriek. She looked over and saw Brianna and Gema squirting water at Tiffany and Fern.
"Oh no you don't!"
She jumped up and grabbed a water gun. She fired at Bri until Brianna fired back. The rest of the group had picked up guns too and were now soaking each other. Haylee occasionally felt Holy Water soak her but didn't mind too much. After all, what was a little Holy Water?
