Gema sleepily rubbed her eyes as she tossed the covers aside. Her feet hit the wood floors with a loud thunk.
"Geez Gema, pick up your feet," she muttered to herself.
She stood up and walked towards her bathroom, only to fall flat on her face.
"Ouch! What the heck?" she cried. She attempted to pull herself up, but her hand brushed something furry.
"What in the world..."
Her blue-green eyes glanced down toward a pair of dark brown furry legs. Where her feet once were, she had black hooves.
"AHHH!" she screamed, scrambling back towards her bed. Her head hit the frame with another loud thunk.
She looked up to see a pair of light brown twisted horns, and it finally clicked.
Gema was a satyr.
~
Fern's pointed ears perked up to the sound of hooves stomping through the halls. She jumped around and growled, baring her teeth at Gema.
"Ah! Wait, I'm not dangerous!" she squealed.
Fern immediately stopped and walked over to Gema's side. She sat on her haunches and looked up happily at her, waiting patiently for Gema to pat her head.
"Um... okay..." she said warily. She slowly reached out and pet Fern's head, jumping back as her wolf form slowly morphed back to human.
"Hey Gema!" she smiled. "I'm a werewolf now! Isn't it cool?"
"Uh, yeah. Very cool," Gema muttered. "Hey, wait a minute. You're part animal too? I thought I was the only one."
Fern shrugged. "I just woke up like this. You?"
Gema nodded.
"Maybe the others have abilities too!" Fern gasped. "Let's go see."
She quickly shrunk back down to her wolf form and raced down the hall, Gema galloping behind.

Clarissa examined Tiffany's see-through body. She looked exactly the same, only everything was transparent and had a dark grey outline. Clarissa herself had a deep blue and sea green ombré tail. Her hands were webbed and her skin was slightly turquoise in color.
"This is too weird for me," Tiffany said nervously. She rubbed her arms and examined the gym.
"Tell me about it," Clarissa sighed, moving her arms through the water to stay afloat. "Do you think anyone else has this problem?"
"Definitely," a voice replied.
They turned their heads to see Gema and a wolf at her side. The wolf slowly morphed into Fern as the pair walked over.
"Whoa, Gema," Tiffany chuckled, glancing down at her legs. "Nice hooves."
Gema glared. "Yeah, at least I have legs."
"What are you guys supposed to be?" Fern asked, scratching her head.
"Mermaid and ghost," Clarissa replied, flicking her tail fin out of the water.
"Oh my God, thank goodness I'm not the only one!" a voice shrieked.
All heads turned to the doorway to find Madison fluttering in. She had wings and was the size of a McDonalds toy.
Tiffany wheezed while Gema and Fern tried to hold back laughter.
"It's not fucking funny!" she cried. She sat grumpily on Clarissas shoulder as Clar simply pet her tiny head of hair.
"Guys, how did this even happen?" Tiffany panted, gasping for air.
"No idea," Gema sighed. "I just woke up like this."
"Yeah, I did too," Clarissa agreed. Everyone else nodded.
"Well, if none of us did this, that leaves three people," Madison suggested.
"Bri, Haylee, and Princey!"
~
Bri looked curiously towards the Gates.
"What the heck..."
She crept closer and gasped softly.
"You guys are fusions too?!" she cried.
"Bri! What the hell are you?" Madison shrieked, fluttering her wings in shock.
"Oh... right," she chuckled. She held out her decaying arms.
"I'm a zombie. What are you guys?"
One by one they simply replied:
"Satyr."
"Werewolf!"
"Ghost my dude."
"Mermaid."
"A flipping fairy."
Brianna nodded. "Okay then. Wait, where's Princey and Haylee?"
"We don't know," Gema sighed.
"We figured it had to be you or them that was responsible," Madison spoke up. "But since you're a mythical creature too, guess it's not you."
Just then, footsteps came dashing down the hall. No one heard them until after Princey had popped up at the Gates.
"Guys," he panted. "I'm a fucking vampire! What's going on?"
"Everyone's turned into hybrids," Clarissa explained.
"Wait, that leaves Haylee!" Tiffany yelled. "It was her!"
They all broke out into arguing and yelling, not a single one noticing the figure crouched in the ceiling corner.
Indeed, it was Haylee. A grin slowly broke out onto her face, her eyes glinting with mischief.
She scanned the crowd knowingly. They all saw what they had woken up as and how the others looked, but none realized their new selves weren't real.
Her voice barely a whisper, she chuckled, "April Fools.."
