Fade Away (interlude)

Sometimes she just wants to fade away

like star dust into outer space

and like the colors on a canvas

washed away by the rain.

Erased from the world, quietly

and no one will ever spare a second glance

because she's standing beside them

with a familiar smile upon her face

And no one realizes her pieces are crumbling,

soul buried in demons it will never escape.

Sometimes she just wants to fade away

into the darkness that consumes all the pain.

Silently, like the last butterfly in summer,

and no one will notice how empty the eyes

because the painted mask of colors on her wings

catches all the sunlight as she leaves.

And they will say:

She was happy, the most carefree one,

They never saw the tears on her wilted flowers,

They never knew the brightest things will burn out like the sun,

They never thought that she would choose to leave this way.

Even she never knew she was fading away

like a star no one notices until it's gone

And when she realized that her light had begun to fade

She took her final breath and let herself dissipate

Because she never deserved to shine anyways.
