Chap 3 Part 3

Katniss (District 11)

“WAKE UP! THE REAPING STARTS IN FIVE MINUTES!!!" I yell to Emma and Bindi.

I run to the square followed by Emma and Bindi. I run to my spot.

“-Katniss Everdeen and Thresh Thomp!"

Me? I barely made it. Now I go in?

“Katniss Everdeen!"

I am shoved go the front. Breathing hard. How? Why me? What have I done to offend the capital? For stealing a loaf bread?

“Thresh Thomp enters for taking oranges off the trees without permission. Katniss Everdeen is entered for stealing loaves of bread to the capital."

Everybody gasps.

“Now what do you have to say Mrs.?"

“I didn't know they were for the capital!" I blurted out.

“Oh, I'm sorry young child. So hungry. Still, your going."

“I will not!" I yell in her face.

Then I take off though the crowd. Everybody lets me through. I run far away into the deep woods. Hopefully I will not be found.

****************** 3 years later.

I wake up tied to a post.

“We'll make sure you go this time." A peacekeeper says.

“No. You. won't." I say.

“Katniss Everdeen!" I hear Alka call. The peacekeepers drag me to the stage. Then I am whisked onto the train quickly.
