Chapter 1 Part 2

Rue (District 2)

I wake up. I yawn and sit up. I pull on my reaping clothes. It is a long pink dress with pink slipper and a large pink bow. My parents said it looked great on me but, I never agreed. After training for 5 years in advance I want to go into the hunger games. I am not telling my parents because they will not last me. I will volunteer! Evan, my brother will love me. He will never go to a reaping.  Of course he will never know how scary the hunger games are. He will think that they gave our family money.

“Rue!" My mom calls. “Are you ready?"

“Yes." I say.

I rush to the square and take the blood test. I am shoved next to Minty Gre. Minty is my freind.

“Ow." She says.

“Ops. Sorry." I say

Minty slaps me. “You never say sorry in the games."

“Sorry." I say and we laugh.

“Hello district 2!" Our new escort calls.

We do not say anything.

“Well, say Hello. Let's try again. Hello district two!"

“Hi." I say sulking.

“Today I chose two very lucky people to go into the hunger games. Instead of picking a slip. Raise your hand if you'll volunteer."

My hand shot up. Minty's did to. I saw Marvel Tink with his hand in the air. Write your name on the slip. We will collect them.

Rue Tree

I write on my slip.

“Now to pick. Marvel Tink!"

Marvel runs up on stage.

“And our lucky lady. Rue Tree!"

I run up on stage. My mouth in a huge smile. I got in!!!!!!!!

“Rue that was stupid!" My dad yells.

“I can win!"

“Your only twelve!" He yells.

“Think of all the money i'll bring back!"

“My baby you will die!" My mom says.

“No I will not." I say.

I am going to make them in many different districts. I do not know if I will make a real hunger games for everyone.
