"D-Dad!" the higher pitched voice rang through the gods skull, along with the dull roar that mirrored the white noise that too fought for room. Groaning and gripping his skull, the god tried to remember just what he was doing on the floor, why was Goth- despite the pain, the god weakly regained his bearings, eye light wavering as he hands gripped the staff of his scythe. If skeletons had skin tone, the way the god gripped the scythe would have turned his knuckles pale. Standing slowly on his feet, Death looked to the source of the demi-gods distressed cry. In front of the God of Death stood a slightly taller figure, tar like substance dripping from his body, "This thing's made you soft Death" Nightmares voice tumbled deeply, and to be honest, Death couldn't tell if that was the pain or dread sinking into his soul, but whatever it had been gave the god some adrenaline, "Dad!" Goth's voice rang out again, noticing his fathers stance, "shut it" the lord of nightmares snapped slamming the demi-god into ground.
As if someone snapped a twig, the sound of wind being cut through gave Nightmare a slight heads up, but not nearly enough to back away quickly, the scythe cut through the tentacle that still held a grip on Goth's frail body. Giving out a loud shriek Nightmare slammed a few tentacles towards the god, only to hit the ground. "You need to leave. Now." Death's voice rang through the sound of wind, his voice deep and powerful, he stood poised with his scythe in his arms, and despite his injuries, he still stood over his son in a more protective manner, that similar to a wolf protecting its pup. However the despite the gods protective manner, Nightmare could obviously make out how weak the older was. But the gods persistence will make this more... Difficult.
Nightmare found the gods negativity addicting, the God of Death was already a source of negativity from mortals and other gods of the sort, but despite the energy this profoun negativity gave the Lord of Nightmares, he was still younger and therefore slightly weaker. The demi-gods presence was a good advantage however. "And why would I do that?" "I've entertained your recklessness for long enough. I'm growing quite tired of it actually." Death countered, stealing a glace at his son. He's getting up. Doesn't seem to hurt, I myself can heal him even. Good. Nightmare chuckled "is that so? Hmm. I guess we'll just have to end it here. What a shame I was beginning to consider having you by my side" before the God of Death could question the meaning behind the statement, he was meet with a harsh slam into his side, causing the god to crash a few feet away.
Goth watched as his father struggled to get back up, from his position he could see blood trickling down the gods head. Fearful for himself and his father, Goth turned to face their attacker. Now, Goth was aware that he wasn't as strong as his father, but he sure was as analytical during battle, just like his dad. Standing up, Goth summoned his own scythe, swinging downwards to create a large enough gap between his struggling father and the opposing Lord of Negativity. Splitting the Earth a bit and giving Nightmare a notice. One against two. "Goth, go!" "No! I-I'm not leaving!" Nightmare's gaze fell to the smaller figure shrouded in white. Slamming tentacles by the demi-god, not hitting him, but enough to send him to the ground. But Goth wasn't detured like the Lord of Negativity was hoping. Instead he seemed even more determined. Goth's goal was to distract Nightmare from his father, if Death had enough stall time to heal the more critical impairments then the older of the three could certainly put the fight to an end. Nightmare growled and focused on Goth, sending Tentacles his way only for them to be meet with the ground and occasionally the smaller's own scythe.
With Nightmare distracted, Death began to work out a more favorable plan. He had to keep Goth safe, despite how well his son was doing it was only a matter of time before he would end up like the rest of the gods(goddess') in this world. Death couldn't bare to lose his son too, shaking his head he focused back in his plan, Nightmares aura effecting his thinking, he can't give the pathetic excuse of a "Lord" anymore power then he already has.
