It had been two days since Carson and I went to Perth to meet up with Vic and Elliot. It was also two days since Bandit had decided he hardly ever wanted to leave me alone. He wasn't the only one of my characters that I saw, though, but he was always around.
Besides Noel, I've had four characters but only three ever came around anymore. The first one I ever saw was this weird purple cat named Astro. I've seen her since I was about three, maybe. Astro wasn't good like Bandit was. He was my bad side, I guess. He didn't come around a lot but we he did, I knew nothing good would come from it.
Then there was Randall. He was a boy that was incredibly skinny, so pale he was an ivory color, and almost seven feet tall -- he was like Slender Man but without the suit and the no face thing. Actually, Randall kind of didn't have a face. He had jet black hair with fringe that hung over his face and only showed the end of his nose and his mouth. His hair covered where his eyes should've been if he had any. Instead, they were black holes in his head. He never talked but he was a good listener. He scared me when I was little but I learned to not be afraid. He wasn't good or bad, he was just...there.
Finally, there was Ruby who was the elf-doll-like girl who had bright red hair that went straight down her back and these pointy elf ears that stretched out from the side of her head. She was about the size of a cheese puff and could float around. But her skin was a pale blue color and her mouth was sewn shut. She reminded me a lot of Sally from The Nightmare Before Christmas but with elf ears and bangs across her forehead. She wasn't good or bad, she mostly was kind of frightening. She made creepy voices pop into my head and sometimes she'd make horrible images appear. I didn't really like her but she'd stopped appearing since I was thirteen. I didn't know why but I didn't try to question it. I didn't want her back.
But for the passed week or so, it had just been Bandit that was around. I didn't know why Bandit was the only normal thing my head had come up with -- he was just a teenage boy. I wasn't complaining, I just found it interesting.
When I first met Vic and Elliot, Bandit kept chuckling at them. Elliot looked like a greaser or something with his golden hair curled at the front and his chiseled face and the leather jacket he was wearing. Vic, on the other hand, looked like a hipster. He wore tight jeans, Vans, and a brown jacket. He had bulky black glasses on his face and had his black fringe swept across his forehead.
Vic and Elliot were also very blunt. The first thing they said when Carson introduced me to them was agreeing that they didn't like my name. I didn't like my real name either but they were talking about the name I'd chosen for myself; they didn't like Ella.
"It's too common." Vic said with a shrug.
"Of course the hipster would say that." Bandit muttered.
"You need a new name." Elliot agreed.
So then Carson started calling me Kitty. I didn't know how he got it but that's what I was to them.
After two days of living in some apartment in Perth and being called Kitty and keeping up with three boys and Bandit in the back of my head all the time, Carson decided he wanted to go to Brisbane because he heard there was another group of vampires there. Carson was big on making allies because that meant he'd have access to more territory. Carson, Vic, and Elliot were currently in control of all of Perth and had connections back in Sydney.
"I heard this lot has a hot leader," Elliot smirked, wiggling his eyebrows as he looked at Vic. Him and Vic were like the typical teenage boys that enjoyed their share of one-night stands. "Maybe we can convince her."
"You're not going to anger another leader," Carson told him sternly. "Last one you tried to get with had a boyfriend and you couldn't take no for an answer."
He shrugged, "She was giggling like she was just being a tease."
"She was laughing because you made her uncomfortable."
I pressed my mouth into a thin line to keep from laughing. Whatever Elliot used to keep his hair perfect was definitely seeping into his brain.
But then I remembered that the psycho witches and that hot but dickheaded ghost hunter were in Brisbane. I felt uneasy about going but I was a vampire now; they couldn't hurt me, could they?
"You okay, Kitty?" Carson wondered, putting an arm around me and squeezing my shoulders.
Carson was currently clad in a black petticoat that was unbuttoned to show a grey t-shirt. He had dark colored skinny jeans that weren't nearly as skinny as the boys back in Sydney. I definitely saw how everyone thought he looked like Michael with dark hair but he wasn't Michael -- he was way nicer and ten times hotter in my opinion.
"I'm fine," I assured him with a smile, "just remembering last time I was in Brisbane."
"Was it with those losers?" he asked, nuzzling his nose into my cheek before kissing the corner of my mouth.
"Yeah," I snorted, rolling my eyes, "there were some freaky witches and ghost hunters after them,"
"Ghost hunters, huh?" he asked, raising his eyebrows like this interested him. "They have those?"
"Don't they have vampire hunters?" I wondered.
He shrugged, "Haven't run into any."
"C'mon, I want to get going!" Vic whined. "We need to find this vampire clan."
"Right," Carson nodded. "Everyone have everything? Kitty, are you forgetting anything?"
I looked up and thought, "Um, I don't think so."
"Yes you are," he smirked before leaning down and kissing my lips sweetly. "Alright, let's go."
