About an hour or so later, James and Peter wandered into the dorm room. "Party time boys!" James hollered, chucking off his robes and pulling a t-shirt over his head.

"What have you two been doing then?" Asked Pete, opening the drink drawer and pulling out a new bottle of vodka.

James didn't want to ask the question. He had his suspicions. Ever since he had walked in on them that time - well it couldn't have ended there, right? Certain things had made him doubt himself, like the fight between Cassie and Marlene, but the two seemed to be sneaking around all the time. He didn't want to admit it, he didn't want whatever it was to ruin the friendship group. If the two were sleeping together, and they had a messy break-up, it would ruin the group at the end of their final year. It was the one and only reason he was upset when he first saw them together.

"Just finishing off some assignments and stuff," Remus said, handing Sirius his hair brush.

"Chuck us the bottle Pete," Sirius said. Peter threw it onto his bed and Sirius picked it up, unscrewed the lip and took a quick gulp.

"Be careful mate, you don't want to be too wasted before the party even begins," James said, taking the bottle off of him.

"Old habits die hard," Sirius said, air-quoting with his hands.

"I sure wish they would," Remus muttered quietly in Sirius, ear, leaning down to pick his  jumper off of the floor. He put his hands on Sirius' lower back as he bent down.

"I think I have some wine somewhere - Moony will you check under the sink for us?"

"Sure," Remus grunted as he pulled himself up and went in the bathroom.

Sirius stared at him as he wandered into the other room, raising his eyebrows and shaking his head. James observed him. Why was he staring? Maybe my worst suspicions are true.

James shook his head trying to shake out the thoughts that scared him, and took a long swig of the vodka. It burnt his throat, but tonight, maybe it was good to get wasted. Maybe he needed it.

The boys stuffed the bottles of alcohol in their bags and shoved small bottles down their jeans and trousers. Sirius was the last to leave the room, slipping his tin of special goods into his back pocket. It was fast cash - he had been saving up for his summer plans. His friends didn't know why he needed the money or how he got it, he was focused on his future.

"I sure hope that is a bottle in there," Marlene said, whacking Sirius' crotch, making him whimper in pain.

"That still hurts you know," he said in response. He was slightly confused at Marlene's sudden return to her slight-forward self.  Remus frowned as he watched their interaction, was there something going on between them two? He felt a sudden jab of fear and jealousy.

The group of seventh and sixth years snook through the castle in small groups, not trying to alert  anybody.  At the forest, just past the lake in a small deserted clearing, there was a large group of older teens from all houses, chatting around the fire and drinking straight bottles.

There were a lot of people already drunk, Sirius watched as one girl throw up into a nearby bush. Dennis Howler from Hufflepuff was already passed out, propped up against a tree while his friends changed the colour of his hair to bright pink as he slept.

"Let's get this party started boys," James hollered, unscrewing a bottle of cider and drinking it as if it were a bottle of water.

The group split off - within an hour James was drunkenly making out with Lily (both of them had too much drink), Peter had given Remus a piggy back ride they both threw up at the same time, and Sirius had made more than enough money.

Now he had enough cash, which he had safely transported back to the dorm, he decided it was time to get wrecked. He slipped one of his tabs into his mouth, following with full bottle of cheap beer. He waited for the world to turn distorted, and made his way back to the centre of the party, drinking anything he got his hands on.

Things began to turn a little more crazy, more people were passing out, and wandering off into the forest. Remus had decided to steer clear of Sirius for a little bit, not knowing how drunk he was, and not wanting to get into any kind of situation.

He sat chatting to Marlene, until she pulled herself up and loudly announced it was time for more shots. Somebody passed around the bottle of tequila and started filling shot glasses.

Sirius stumbled towards where it was happening. "Hey look who it is!" Marlene called, slurring her words and swinging her arms around Sirius, passing him a shot.

He gladly took it, dropping it to the floor when he was finished. "More!" he yelled.

Remus watched concerned and worried. Sirius was getting out of control. Sirius knew himself that he was getting out of control. He was now moving from person to person in a drunk craze. He wandered off into the forest to be sick, and Remus followed behind him.

Sirius fell to the ground, laughing as he threw up. Remus pull his hair back for him, and passed him a bottle of water when he was finished.

"Thank youuuu baby!" Sirius slurred, water spilling down his chin. He collapsed into Remus' arms, whispering something about cars or bars in his ear.

"I don't like to see you like this," Remus muttered quietly, wiping Sirius, face with the corner of his t-shirt.

"Whyyy? It's all a bit of fun my love," Sirius responded, cupping Remus' face in his hands. He was wasted, but he still felt bad for Remus (which was unusual, because usually he was completely numb at times like these).

Remus lent forward and kissed his head, "let's go back to the dorms, I think you've had enough for tonight."

"Please stay here, everybody's have so much fun I think yes too early," he whispered, falling asleep in Remus' chest.

"We're going back," Remus said, hoisting him up and half-carrying him out of the forest. Behind them Marlene watched, sipping a bottle of cider.

James stumbled up behind here, a cigarette hanging out of his mouth and half a can of cheap lager in his hand. "They're off to fuck again I see for fucks sake," James said when he stood next to her.

Marlene whirled around. "What?"

James put his arm around her shoulder and pointed to the couple stumbling up the hill towards the castle. "You see those, those two, my friends, those two people?"

"Yeah?" Marlene responded.

"They're fucking," James whispered, giggling to himself. He let the cigarette fall out of his mouth and he stood on it to put it out.

"James, I don't think you know what you're saying - you're so drunk," Marlene said, rolling her eyes.

"No," he cried, grabbing her by the shoulders. "The other day I walked in on them," he whispered, pausing to go into a fit of laughter.

"Walked in on what James?"

"I walked in on them having sex!" he cried, laughing hysterically. Then he collapsed to the floor, still laughing at himself.

Marlene looked at Sirius and Remus trying to sneak into the castle, Remus holding him up carefully under the moonlight. She didn't know what to believe. She sat down next to a now sleeping James and finished her drink.
