Christmas was over and school was starting again. The boys were back to they usual antics, all of them silently agreeing to never bring up Christmas Eve again. "It's not worth ruining the friendship anyway," Remus had said to Sirius, after he had tried to explain.

Sirius was trying to move on. He just couldn't get away from his feelings. The Marauders had never been closer, but everything felt fake to Sirius. James kept giving them both funny looks, as if they were still keeping secrets. Everything was wrong.

It was a cold and misty Thursday morning when Sirius was walking through the quad on the way to transfiguration. He had a long walk, and if it wasn't for the five minute switch between classes, he wouldn't be late all the time. He stuck his hand in his bag to see if he had actually remembered his textbook. However, at the top of his bag he found a folded piece of parchment.

That's odd, he thought. I swear I didn't put this in here this morning.

He pulled it out and unfolded it. What he found shocked him, causing him to stop in the middle of the hallway. A few people shoved passed him, annoyed that he blocked their way. On the parchment, was a small, moving photo of two people kissing. As he looked closer, he recognised his own hair, and the suit he was wearing on the night of the ball. He saw Remus' ruffled brown hair, and his suit. It was like he was there, still feeling the cold air of the night, and the warmth of Remus' kiss.

On the back of the parchment were a few words, scribbled shakily in black ink.

LET US WIN THE NEXT MATCH AND WE'LL GET RID OF THIS

Sirius gulped. A moving illustration of a snake passed the bottom of the parchment. Before anybody could see the picture or the threat, he crumpled it up and stuffed it inside his robe pocket. He knew the next Slytherin VS Gryffindor game was coming up, and the Slytherins needed to win. But how could he make sure Gryffindor lost?

He needed to find James. He was now late for his class, but he knew James was in it, so he marched along anyway. There were a few students still lurking in the hallways. He ran up the stairs and turned a corner, walking past a group of Slytherins. All of them were whispering and snickering as he passed. Sirius couldn't help his paranoia.

"What a faggot," one of them whispered loud enough for Sirius to hear.

He knew they were talking about him. Instead of walking right to transfiguration he took a left towards his dorm. When he got there he let the tears roll down his face before swallowing hard and stopping them. He took the picture out and stared at it.

What am I going to do?

He awoke later to the sound of the dorm room opening. He jumped up straight away, shoving the photo he still had clenching in his fist back in his pocket.

"Hey," said Remus quietly, wandering into the room. He approached Sirius' bed and sat down next to him. "You weren't in class so I came to see what's up."

"What time is it?" Sirius asked groggily.

"Half four. Now what's up?"

Sirius looked at him sadly. He slowly pulled out the crumpled piece of parchment and handed it over to Remus. "I found it in my bag."

"Oh my god," Remus mumbled, flipping it over and pulling an even more surprised face. "What are we going to do?"

Sirius shook his head. "We'll have to give them what they want," he replied.

"How? We can't just hand the game over to them? How do we just tell the team to fuck up their game?" Remus cried angrily. He set the picture down and covered his eyes with his hands.
