3 weeks later

After the fight with Wally, Dick and I stayed at the manor. Dick refused to go on missions and the only team member we had contact with was M'gann, who visited almost every day. Within the first couple days, we became best friends, we worked on her cooking skills with Alfred and movie nights with Dick. But also, because of M'gann, I have very little nightmares, I still stay up because Dick still has them, but I don't mind. M'gann offered to do the same thing she did with me, to Dick, but he refused. Unlike me, he loved his parents and wants to remember them, no matter what. Though unlike most days, today I'm shaken awake by an annoying boy jumping on my bed.

"Avery! Get up! Get up!" Dick yelled while violently shaking me. We haven't exposed me to the world as Ava Wayne yet, but even then I think he will refuse to call me Ava, unless we are in public.

"Dick, go away." I mumbled, throwing a pillow at his head only for him to dodge it and continue to shake me. 'Darn bat training.'

"Come on! Get up! There is a new package for you!" He yelled, causing my eyes to snap open in excitement. Today is the day! Usually, I would have been mad if Dick had woken me up for no reason, but this was a special package that we had been waiting 3 weeks for.

I jumped, up throwing him to the floor with my covers, then quickly grabbed clothing from my walk in closet, before running into the bathroom to change. When I ran out, I was wearing a teal hoodie and black ripped jeans with teal tennis shoes. I ran past him and down the hall to the old clock. Quickly opening it, I skipped down the stairs, where Bruce was standing with an amused smirk on his face. Dick stopped beside me a minute later, greadidly gasping for air as he hunched over in exhaustion.

"We might have to work on your running. Avery got here before you, without her speed." Bruce said placing his hands on his hips. 'Not that I could use it anyways.' We figured out that whatever Joker poisoned me with, took away my speed. I don't mind though, I love that I don't feel like I have to rely on it anymore.

"Yeah whatever. Just show us!" Dick said impatiently, only for Bruce to shake his head and open the box, then gave the package to me. I immediately ran into my separate changing room and put on the new costume. I looked into the mirror and almost gasped, I looked completely different, especially with my brown hair. My suit was all black kevlar with a domino mask, gloves with no back to them, black boots that went up to the middle of my calf, and a dark purple utility belt. The suit had long pants but a tank top for the upper part, though the coolest thing about it was the dark purple emblem of a Phoenix on my chest. (Image up above) All of it was perfectly fitted, not too tight, not too loose.

"You coming out or am I coming in?" Dick yelled from outside the door. I practically heard his smirk.

"Hold on to your feathers, I'm coming!" I yelled, as I straightened out my hair as much as I could with my untamable curly hair. After taking a deep breath and opening the door to find Dick in his Robin suit standing outside the doors with his arms crossed. The moment he saw me his mouth dropped to the floor, making me giggle and pecked his cheek as I walked past him. A few seconds later I could hear his footsteps from behind, trying to catch up so he was walking beside me.

"You look amazing." He said staring at me as we walked, I smiled, but kept looking forward and held myself back from snickering. He was too busy staring at me to notice the medical table in front of him until it was too late, a loud bang echoed across the whole cave as him and the table fell to the floor. At that point I didn't even try to hold in my laughter, he only glared at me until I had calmed down.

"You knew I was going to walk into that." He stated with his eyes sporting his version of the Bat glare. I simply smirked and continued to walk towards the computer, where Bruce was hard at work.
