I was in complete and utter shock.

What had just happened? How was Nicholas alive? He died. He was dead. Yet there he was, no memories of us.

I sat numbly on a chair beside Estelle who was crying into her hands. Torryn was restlessly pacing, not making the situation any better. Cate and Andrea had Jasper laying on a table, medical supplies thrown everywhere. Apparently Andrea knew lots of first aid because she once wanted to be a doctor and Cate had lots of experience stitching up wounds when she was with the Norians.

Why is everyone so upset?

I thought you hated him?

"But I didn't want this to happen." I muttered, everyone panicking to much to notice.

Then what are you doing?

Sitting here?

Like a lump?

While Zillah is out there.

Risking her life for you.

Coward.

"I am no-"

You are.

Kaleo hissed in my head and I jumped to my feet without meaning to.

"I'm going to help Zillah, it's been too long. He could be killing her." I started towards the door, and no one stopped me. But before I could run down the ramp to the ground, Zillah burst from the trees. She was bleeding from multiple places and Nicholas was right behind her. He chucked a knife and she just barely dodged it.

I yelled at her to hurry, pulling out my gun and aiming it at Nicholas. I started to regret refusing to learn how to use a gun, I had zero aim.

"Close it!" I heard Zillah yell, "close it, I'll make it!" I trusted that she would be able to, my hand never hesitated as I pressed the button to start closing the doors.

She jumped, pulling herself inside before it was able to slam shut, trapping Nicholas on the outside.

"What are you doing?" Zillah exclaimed breathlessly as soon as she saw Jasper on the table. "Take him to the medical wing and hook him up to the table. The machines will do the rest."

Cate and Andrea looked confused but we hurried to lift Jasper up again. As I slung his arm over my shoulder I could feel his blood soaking into my shirt. He was losing too much, I wasn't sure if we had enough time.

"Quickly, to the end of the hall and to the right," Zillah pointed down a long and narrow hall, "I need to get this thing flying before that psycho finds a way in."

Torryn and I were already moving, Cate and Andrea grabbing the medical supplies. Jasper's head fell limply on my shoulder and a sharp pain of fear ran through my limbs.
