We hurried back to the medical wing, Zillah the only one staying back, going the other way to fix the ship. I knew it should be a main priority, but she acted like she didn't care.
"Damnit Jasper." Torryn muttered when we entered the room and pulled Jasper towards him.
"I thought you didn't like hugs." Jasper laughed, wincing slightly and holding his side.
"Oh shut up." Torryn pushed him away lightly. It was always Jasper hugging everyone, not Torryn. However, Jasper and Torryn had become quick friends. I wasn't sure if it was because Jasper called Estelle his 'little sis' or because his blonde hair reminded Torryn of his brother or if it was just the simple fact that he wasn't human. There would always be a part of Torryn who hated humans, there was no one who could change that, not even me.
"We're glad you're ok." I pulled Jasper into a hug as well, relived with how efficient Zillah's technology was.
"Ya, I'm glad you're not dead." Andrea placed her hand on Jaspers shoulder, as she wasn't really one for hugs.
"Andrea, was your father a thief?" Jasper looked up at her with a strange smile on his face.
"Uh no, why?" She frowned as we awaited the answer to his strange question.
"Cause I think he stole the stars from the sky and put them in your eyes." He winked, earning a few laughs, something he always managed to do no matter the circumstance.
"I liked you better when you were unconscious." She hit his head lightly.
"Ha! But you do like me." He laughed before coughing violently.
"You should get some rest." I pushed him back down before going to retrieve bandages to cover the stitches wound.
"I'm honoured that everyone cares so much, but it's really just a scratch." Jasper tried to sit up again, wincing in pain instead.
"I think we all need some time to rest." Max opened the door, waving for everyone to get out, "we meet in the briefing room in two hours, except you Jasper."
Jasper looked like he was about to object, but I gave him a pointed look and he shut his mouth.
Although I had no plans of resting, I had to keep up my act and wander off to my small room. It was a sad comparison to the one on Zillah's world. No extravagant decorations, no king sized bed. Just a white box with a small cushion that they called a bed. I sat motionless for ten minutes, hoping by this time everyone would've retreated to their rooms.
As quietly as I could I left the room. I expected the hall would be empty, I was wrong. Turning, I came face to face with a guilty looking Torryn who'd just exited his own room.
"What do you think you're doing?" I crossed my arms and blocked his path down the hall.
"What do you think you're doing?" He crossed his arms and made an over exaggerated accusing face. He was mimicking me.
