whirlwind: diyue ficlets

happiness is simple

yue opened her eyes and thought, "where am i?" she moved her head a little then smiled. she'd recognize the feeling of didi's lap anywhere. she'd fallen asleep on it a hundred times. she closed her eyes again as she felt didi's hand touch her cheek and fell back asleep smiling.

meanwhile didi was reading his comics when he felt the movement on his lap. he knew yue must've woken up. he smiled and lowered one hand to caress her cheek and continued reading with a smile on his face.

for that one moment, everything between them was simple. and happiness was theirs.

author's note:

i literally saw this scene play out in a dream. an ending scene to a very dramatic and emotional dream with diyue as the main characters. one day perhaps i would write a whole fic from this dream but for now, this would have to do.

and this one is special because it was the first piece of writing that started it all. i posted the snippet on twitter and so many people replied with kind and encouraging comments so i started posting more stuff. so thank you, guys. you are the reason for this whirlwind.
