Dong Shancai blinked and pinched herself as she looked around the spacious room. She couldn't believe she was actually there; in an office at Daoming Pharmaceutical Tech's headquarters, home of the most advanced research facility for the future of drugs and human health.

She looked out the window at the research building across the courtyard and exhaled a dreamy sigh at the sight; floors after floors of laboratories dedicated to the study of the human genome, cell biology application, and her favourite: hematology research. She had dreamed of working here since she was a middle-schooler looking at her first blood platelets through a microscope.

I will get my ass into those labs even if I have to break my way in and crawl on my hands and knees.  I HAVE TO LAND THIS JOB. Oh Lord, please let me land this job.

"Ms. Dong, our president is ready for you."

Shancai took a deep breath and stood up. Straightening her skirt, she walked toward the door with a sign that reads "Daoming Feng, President Director". She pushed the door open and walked toward the desk where a stern looking lady sat, studying some papers. ShanCai stopped and stared, marvelling in the presence of one of her idols.

She looks so young. I am sure she is closer to 60 than 50, but how come she doesn't look a day over 45? The rumours must be true then. Daoming PharmTech has unlocked the secret to eternal youth. OHMYGOD is that what they are launching at their annual RDTECH  convention next month?!

"Is there something on my face?"

Shancai snapped out of her thoughts and saw that President Daoming Feng was now looking at her with a frown.

"I'm sorry. Can you repeat the question?"

Daoming Feng tilted her head, "Is there something on my face? Why are you staring at me like that?"

Shancai shook her head profusely. "Oh no. Nothing is on your face. I was just in awe. I have idolized you since I read your paper on molecular fundamentals in hematopoiesis. It is truly an honour to be meeting you."

"Oh. That paper is ancient. I can't believe anyone still remembers that."

"But it was so revolutionary! It changed how we look at the role of cell regeneration in the hemotasis process—"

Daoming Feng held up a hand. Shancai quickly stopped herself from rambling. She looked up at Daoming Feng and saw in her face something that may pass as fondness.

"Thank you. But I'm afraid I don't have time to take a stroll down memory lane. I have a conference call in about 20 minutes, so let's get straight to the point. Have you reviewed the contracts my secretary sent you?"
