~ your POV ~
I look at the two tall men before me. Both scare the crap out of me.
"Mind if we sit?" asks one.
"Sure," I say, not knowing what other option there is.
"My name is Andrew, this is my partner, Ethan. Now, y/n, mind if you tell us what happened?"
"Uh, sure," I say, and launch into my very own lie about what happened.
While I talk, Ethan adjusts his position in his chair several times. It unsettles me. A lot. But I try not to show it, as I need these guys to believe my lie. I need this to be my life, be what actually happened, not something we fabricated because the boys didn't think everything through.
My thoughts drift from Hope to Habit, and I can't help but wonder where he is. If he can sense something is wrong with me, like I can with him.
God, I would give just about anything to see him alive and okay ...
"Now, are you sure that's what happened?" asks Andrew.
"Yes, sir," I say, keeping determination in my voice.
Ethan and Andrew have been writing things down this whole time, and now they stand up. Honestly, it's like they're the fabled Men In Black you hear the tinfoil hats talk about.
Hell, with my luck, they probably are.
"Thank you, ma'am. We'll leave you and your friends to rest," Andrew says.
"Have a good day and speedy recovery, y/n," says Ethan as they leave.
Moments later, Jeff and Vinny climb into bed with me.
"Are you okay?" Jeff asks.
"Yeah. I mean, it's not like they're going to know what really did this to me when we don't even really know," I say.
"You're going to be fine, y/n," Vinny says. "I don't think you two can be separated from each other for too long, you always come back, like magnets."
I laugh. "I miss him so much."
"We know," says Jeff as he brushes my hair from my face. "We'll get him back, I promise."
"I hope so ..." I whisper softly.

Shout out to AnnaSpade for her amazing new EMH story that you should all definitely check out. She's amazing and gave me the giggles earlier when I really needed them.
So I'm thinking of scrapping Inhabited for another version that's waaay better and not cringe-worthy like it is now. What do you guys think? Definitely deleting some characters if I do. But Shucan will definitely remain, and she will continue to be Habit's girlfriend/mate.
I might do it just because.
