Cals POV

I'm sitting on the playground. I don't know why I always end up here, but I do. There's a boy on my left illuminated by the midnight moon, but when I look at him everything feels blurry. I need to know who he is, but there's flowers where his face should be.

He chuckles,
"Cal, you're staring."

I blink heavily and look away. Everything feels like it's far away, and in a daze. It's unusual; the feeling I get when I look at the boy.
He makes me feel happy, but also sorrowful. It's almost bittersweet, but in a strange way. The lilac flowers are still covering his face, but I know he's looking right at me.
He seems antsy, like he has something to say.

He lets out a gasp, and snaps his head in the direction of the road, but I can't draw my eyes away from him.

Suddenly everything is frantic. Someone is screaming, and the boy rushes away from the playground.
I let out a heavy breath.

I sit up and in a cool sweat and rub my eyes. Why was I at that playground? Who was the boy I was sitting with? Why did that dream make me feel so strange?
I tug at my hair in confusion and glance over to my alarm clock and see that school already started twenty minutes ago.

Rushing to chuck some loose basketball shorts and a tank top on, I quickly grab my phone, school bag, and put my shoes on before running out the door.

I'm late for pe, which means I'll have to run extra laps, but surely this counts as extra laps? I'm literally jogging to school. Ugh, whatever.

I rush through the school gates and quickly make my way to the gym locker rooms, and get changed.

I wish Luke were in this class, it's pretty boring without him. The only thing to do is to try, and usually succeed, at doing better than Clifford. It's so fun to see him mad, it makes his lips look nice. But still, he's ugly.

I walk quickly into the gym to see everyone doing yoga... so I guess I won't have to run any laps today. I grab a mat from the pile of spares and drag it over, but the coach stops me before I can place it down.

"Hood," he begins, short and sharp, "You've missed most of the lesson, you might as well just run laps for the rest."

I groan and place the yoga mat back onto the pile and begin running as a few of Clifford's friends snicker.
I keep running as I watch the group of people doing yoga. I wish I could do yoga, it's a nice relaxing way to start school instead of this.

"Hood!" Coach belts out as everyone is packing up, "hit the showers."
