Ryan POV
"Is there seriously a reason why we're sitting here you guys watching us?" Cole asked exasperated.
"You're a prime target," I stated muttering under my breath, "Not like you could fight off Pendara."
Alexa snickered and went back to playing her 3DS. It's been three weeks and we decided to take shifts. Emily, Kevin, Lauren, and I would take night shifts, while Mia, Mike, Ash, and Antonio would take the day shifts.
“It’s been weeks, shouldn’t one of us go to look for Jayden and Natalie?” Lauren suggested. “I mean come on, for all we know Pendara could already be doing the ritual.”
“She can’t do that, she can only do that on the equinoxes,” Kevin pointed out.
“I think Lauren’s right. I’ll go down to the Netherworld and have a look around,” I announced.
Emily instantly stood up. She grimaced.
“No,” she said firmly. “You’re not going down there.”
“I have to Emily, if I don’t Jayden could possibly be dead and so could Natalie, I won’t be long,” I said.
I kissed Emily’s forehead and sunk into the ground.

3rd Person POV
-
Several duplications of Jeice took place around a mound of cliffs. They paced back and forth keeping watch for neighboring Nighloks. Jayden’s clothes were burned and tattered as he watched over the horizon where the sun would rise, but didn’t. Below the cliffs were the Nighloks under Pendara’s control who were talking a little too loud.
“You hear what the boss is going to do with the Silver Ranger?” one asked.
“No, what?” the other said curiosity evident in his voice.
“She’s going to be the sacrifice in the Ritual.”
“Why are we following her orders anyway? What has Pendara ever done for us.”
“I don’t know man, but let’s not question it, we’re alive ain’t we?”
“Yeah, you’re right.”
Jayden showed no affection of shock that Natalie would be the sacrifice and instead leaped down from the cliffs before the two Nighloks. Both jumped in surprise.
“Where is Natalie?” Jayden demanded.
“And why should we tell you?” the Nighlok spat.
Jayden sighed and drove his Spin Sword through the Nighlok’s chest. He gasped as his entire body turned to white stone before collapsing into dust. Jayden threatened the other Nighlok who backed away in fear.
“You can either tell me where Natalie is, or I can ask another Nighlok,” Jayden threatened a hint of malice in his voice.
“Ok, ok! Just put the sword down!” the Nighlok cried. Jayden lowered his sword as asked and the Nighlok continued, “Pendara has the most powerful Nighloks guarding the Silver Ranger’s cell. It’s almost impossible to get in.”
“What is?”
“The Maze.”

Ryan POV
-
I appeared between two large walls. In front of me was a narrow corridor that appeared as if would never end. I turned to face a Nighlok much taller than me. A thin blade replaced his right arm.
“How did you get in?” he grumbled.
“Oh you know, portal, nothing special,” I replied.
The Nighlok raised his blade/arm and threatened to swing it before I shouted, “Wait! How do you just assume that I could be a human. For all you know I could be a Nighlok General. Now would you like to be the one to tell Pendara that you killed her most trusted advisor?”
The Nighlok scratched his head and grumbled something I couldn’t make out.
“Yeah, sorry buddy,” he said.
Once his back was turned I grinned used my katana to stab him.
“Such an idiot,” I said. I turned back to the corridor where it somehow shortened so that it was only a few yards from the next corner.
I frowned but walked to the next corner where more corners were placed in a never ending passageway.

Emily POV
-
“Ash, I need you to open a portal,” I said.
“What? I can’t open a portal,” Ash protested.
“Well I need you to try. I’m not letting Ryan go down there by himself.”
“Ryan’s a big boy, he can take care of himself,” Cole said. “And besides, he survived a freaking explosion, I’m he can take more than a couple hits from one of Pendara’s cronies.”
I sighed, “I’m still going whether you guys help me or not.”
I took one of the books in the shelves.
“Why is it we always turn to the books, what have books got?” Ash asked.
“How about knowledge, words, and smarts. All of which you lack in,” Lauren retorted.
I frowned seeing none of the books had anything on getting to the Netherworld without becoming half-Nighlok.
“There’s nothing here,” I turned to Ash. “I need you to open a portal.”
“I can’t open a portal!” Ash yelled. “I can’t make one without burning up until I’m nothing but ash, that’d be a pretty ironic death.”
“Cole and I could try,” Alexa offered hesitantly.
“No, I can’t do that you guys,” I said.
“Oh but you can do that to me?” Ash asked. I rolled my eyes about to speak but Alexa cut me off, “I’ve had an aerial fight on top of an RV, let me try.”
I sighed but nodded. Alexa smiled and quickly rushed to her and Lauren’s room returning with her Samuraizer. Cole removed his Samuraizer form his pocket and they walked to the center of the room.
Both made slashes with their Samuraizers in unison forming the kanji for portal. An orange and white vortex appeared before them.
“Go Emily!” Cole yelled.
I rushed forward leaping into the portal screaming a ‘thank you’ on the way down.

***************
Hey everybody, I don't know if you noitced but I changed my profile picture and username for personal reasons. Anyway I decided to take this day as a "Writing Day". I shall use every Saturday as a "Writing Day" so expect a definite chapter every Saturday. If I don't upload I'm probably either busy or drilled by my parents for not doing my homework. But in my personal opninon, homework is more of a Sunday thing. Ok so recap of chapter: The mysterious Maze (ominious music in background). Basically more than half of the team is divided so a note to Ryan: Listen to your mother! But I;ve got to say, thumbs up for tricking that Nighlok. God bless, and happy reading.
:)
P.S. Possibly next chapter ;)
