You say you love me
But your words are always harsh
Like daggers on my heart
Making me wince in pain.

You say you love me
But I'm caged in a golden palace
Making me wonder
What freedom feels like.

You say you love me
But you question my every step
So much that I no longer
Wish to do anything innovative.

You say you love me
But you weigh me down
Whenever I want to fly
Tying me down to fear and responsibilities.

You say you love me
But you've wounded me completely
So much and so deep, that
It's impossible to have no scars.

You say you love me
But you don't see the pain
While I cry out blood
Draining out my soul.

You say you love me
I wish you'd know what a lie it was.
I lay in my peaceful coffin, now
Feeling alive for the first time.

Your love was perhaps so strong
That it was enough to kill a being.
I'd never known it as love
But a behaviour of a psychopath.

I was dead being with you
But I'd breathe just to survive.
You didn't know any of it, and
You'd say you love me.
