Her skin was moisturized,
With an expensive moisturizer.
Lots of primer applied,
For the make-up to last.
Foundation to cover up,
All the flaws on skin.
Blush on the apples of her cheeks,
To look naturally slim faced.
Finely applied mascara,
To enhance her eyelashes.
A bit of eyeshadow, for the
Eyes to stand out and look attractive.
Fine work with eyeliner,
To make her lashes look lush.
Bright lipstick on,to add,
Colour and texture to her lips.
On and on and on,
Just to look beautiful.
And why?
Because once upon a time,
The person she loved the most
Rejected her saying UGLY.
Make-up has become a part of her.
So much that she herself, no longer,
Remembers her real face.
But was the experience too bad?
No, because now she knows,
The power of words spoken.
