Jane's POV

There must be a mole in one of our corporations. But, the question is, which one? I thought as I sat down at my desk at home. I kicked my feet up and stirred my coffee. I looked up at the clock, which read 9pm.

My computer sat in front of me. I decided I would do a little research on Mike's corporation. I am a little biased. I mean, honestly, if someone was playing games in my corporation, I would have found out by now. Mike, well, maybe he just wasn't as good at playing detective. Who am I kidding? The mole could very well be in my corporation, and Mike is a great, uh, asset.

After hours of searching online, I barely found anything dirty about either corporations. I was back at square one.

Suddenly, my phone rang.

"Hello?"

"Jane! Help, something terrible has happened!"
"Lucas, calm down, what is it?"
"Max. She's missing!"
"What do you mean by missing?"
"She's gone. I came by to pick her up for trivia night, but her door was open. There was a note. The note! Oh no, the note, what am I going to do? The note-"
"Lucas! Stop it! Take a deep breathe, and then tell me about the note."
"The note said that if we didn't drop the case by the end of the week, we would never see her again! And, there was a black bird feather by the note. The note..."
"What?!"
"The note was signed."
"By who?"
"The Raven."

Suddenly, a loud noise came from down stairs. I rushed down the stairs, into my kitchen. The back door was wide open. On the counter sat an envelope. Strange.

I walked over, opened the envelope, and dropped it on the ground the moment I saw what was inside.

I was absolutely terrified.

In the envelope was my file, along with a black bird feather. This meant only one thing.
