Destruction.
It was the same scene I saw on the day of our mission. The town's shops ruined, with glass broken over the ruins of rocks that sat uneven from the use to be stone ground. Fires breaking out and bodies scattered, bleeding onto the ground.
Sokovia was a gone, the home I spent with my brother and parents was gone and so was my family. But I was already too tired, having lived through this dream thousands of times. Why must the last piece of my brother be a nightmare?
"Hey..." a soft voice whispers, a voice too familiar. I freeze noticing it immediately, someone touches me on the shoulder. And I force myself not to turn around in fear of seeing something I didn't want to see.
But I turn around anyways, seeing a man in front of me. His white haired turned from the experiments we experienced together, his eyes still had the similar blue hue and his lips still held that same crooked smile. "What? You didn't see that coming?"
My eyes well up, forcing myself not to cry but I do anyways. The dam that held them back was broken letting a flood of tears come through. "This is just a dream... but it is the only thing I have left..."
"Hey!!....Why are you crying?" he asks, tilting his head in question. "Where's that edgy sister that doesn't give a shit about anything?!" mimicking my actions as he folds his arms.
I chuckle lowly, with no emotion. "You're dead... this is nothing but a dream... my mind made up because I felt so lost without you..."
My brother in my dream looks up at me, his face carrying a serious expression. "You're right.. you have dreams like these because you can't let go.."
"It'll hurt if I do..."
"But doesn't it hurt more when you hold on?"
I stare into his blue eyes, shocked by his last sentence. But he only puts on an innocent smile, "I'm not saying you should forget about me... just.. don't hold the pain by yourself. Get out, do something... there are so many other people who care about you. Like your team mates in the Avengers... All I ask is.."
Pietro sighs happily, with a bright smile on his face. "Don't forget about me..."
I sobbed, breaking down onto the ground. "How could I..."
"Heyyyyyyy...." my brother leans down,
Pietro wipes away remaining of my tears, "Put away your tears..." he stands me up. "You aren't alone Wanda... You have the team... Clint, Nat and the weird andriod dude... BUT!! You also have me..."
He squeezes my hand, Pietro giggling from my reaction "I may not be by your side... but,"
"I'll always be in your heart.."
The remaining of my slumber trickles away and I start to open my eyes at the newfound reality I now lived in. The sun greets me first, it's light shining down through the window making my eyes squint from the brightness.
I sit up, a dream. It wasn't a nightmare, but a dream.
Even though it was only a dream, a thing of my imagination. I felt satisfied, that I had my brother. The memories of how he lived, were the one's that mattered to me.
I look up at the morning sky and the busy townspeople that walked through the busy tent markets. Remembering my brother's words, "Let's do something..."
I hooped out of bed, seeing as Natasha wasn't on the other side I assumed that she had headed to Steve and Sam's room already to talk about the mission. Can't keep them waiting, I quickly picked out a shirt to put on from my luggage and head to the room next door.
I stepped out of the room and walked down the dim hallway with the old lights flickering as I walk past them. I knocked on the door, waiting for an answer.
Sam answers, opening the door with a waffle in his mouth. "Grrd Vourning!!" his voice mumbling through the food in his mouth. I giggle lightly, while Sam finally takes the food out of his mouth. "Sorry, uh you want one?"
"I would love one.." I replied, he nods before turning to the kitchen which was the size of our bathroom.
"It'll be ready in a couple of minutes." he says from the kitchen.
I look at the living room which was basically a table next to a bed. So they did have to sleep on the same bed. "Good morning." I say firmly, taking in the serious atmosphere. Natasha and Captain leaning over the table filled with blue prints scattered with newspapers on top and a serious expression on their face. Then Sam comes in with a plate of strawberry, one in his mouth saying, "Y'all hungry?" breaking the serious atmosphere.
The Falcon hands me the plate as I thanked him before hurrying to stuff it down my stomach. My stomach growls from the new found food, the artificial strawberry tasting sweet in my mouth.
Steve stands up straight, leaning against the wall. "Now that everyone's here, we should start discussing a plan for the mission tomorrow."
I looked up from my waffles, returning my attention to the plans.
The Black Widow points to the blue print. "They're planning to return in the lab, Rumlow won't care about any civilian casualties." Pointing to the newspaper, "With his history of stealing biological weapons, it wouldn't be surprising if he were use them for this mission."
Steve nods, "We don't know what's coming at us, that's why we need to prepare for the unprepared." he looks straight to me, his blue eyed stare making me uneasy. "Wanda, you can control people with your mind as well, right?"
I nod, "Do you want me to use it on them?"
He smiles, "If it comes to that... however, I believe it would be more useful to use it on us." I look at him confused. "With your control, you can maybe throw me further, it would be quite easier to get to Rumlow quicker. And get the danger out."
I nod, I remember using it on the Ultron clones at the Sokovia mission, holding him up wouldn't be much of a challenge. "Right, what else do we need to do?" I asked.
All of them looked at me, surprised from my determination. I couldn't blame them, it was as if I was refreshed, the new improved Wanda. I smile to myself, it's probably Pietro...
Steve smiles, I took a slip in his mind feeling something warm, a proud feeling. "Okay, then let's get down to business."
