⁞ ✿ page twelve | happy jihyo day. ✿ ⁞

it's midnight.
february 1st.
jihyo has been looking at her phone for the past few minutes now. countless of greetings flooded her, along with photos and a bunch of happy memories.

but she was waiting for a certain someone.

it became an annual thing for the two to call each other during their birthdays, right exactly when the clock strikes at twelve. it was an unspoken rule for the two of them to greet each other the second their birthday starts.

right now, it's 12:05. jihyo's still waiting for him. any minute now... she thought. but those minutes went by, and a call never came to her. so instead of waiting, she just decided on replying to the others' greetings for her.

it's weirdly different. usually, it was him who would greet her first, beating everyone else who wished to greet jihyo first. right after, he'd brag about it when he calls, but this year, jihyo didn't get anything.

she frowned. jihyo knew it was still too early, and that there still is a lot of time for him to do something on her birthday. that's right, she'll just look forward to what the day might bring.

jihyo, who was already sleeping, woke up to the sound of feet shuffling outside her door. she glanced at her clock, which just showed '1:20 A.M'.

knowing it was just her members, she knew she couldn't be disappointed, but she can't help but be. the other members had just come home from their vacation, and it was so thoughtful of them to come home early, in order to celebrate jihyo's birthday together. she can't wish for better friends than them.

the sound of the door opening, followed by a birthday song sang in chorus, was enough for jihyo to snap back to her senses. the eight girls surrounded her bed, clapping while they smiled at the birthday girl.

chaeyoung who was holding the cake walked forward, letting jihyo do the honor of blowing the candles. she did so, also clapping happily after.

one by one the members wished her a happy birthday, giving her their birthday kiss. they had a small exchange of chats, but soon they all needed to leave in order to rest, the jetlag reaching the foreign members who have just returned.

now, it was only jihyo again. how she wished that she could fast forward time. she doesn't need sleep, she just wants to be with him today.

"i'll be going, good bye!" jihyo shouted, before dashing outside the dorm. today she was sporting a casual look, with just a simple white dress that were slightly above the knees, she decided on paying him a surprise visit.

it was one of the few days they were free from any schedule, so she will not put this day to waste.

hopping inside her car, she drove off to his company building, but not before buying drinks not only for him, but his members as well.

before going out, she wore a couple of cover-ups, sunglasses, mask, and a coat. jihyo made sure to make her entrance quick in order to not catch attention.

assuming she's already safe from the public, jihyo took off her mask and sunglasses, huffing a sigh of relief. she hid the cover-ups in her bag, before continuing to make her way to his studio.

every staff who she bumped into recognized her, wishing her a great birthday. she politely thanked each of them, smiling as they remembered.
