"jihyo-ya!" jihyo's mother called her attention, the 9-year old hurriedly running to her mother.

"yes, mother?" spoke jihyo, who has caught the attention of her parents and some visitors.

jihyo got shy and immediately hid behind her mother. "we'd like you to meet someone." her mom nudged her a bit, and jihyo looks up to a boy slightly older than her.

"this is yoongi, he'll be with you from now on."

young jihyo curiously looked at yoongi, who gave her a chuckle, and afterwards a bow.

"it's a pleasure to meet you, princess."

"are you a prince?" jihyo randomly asked him while they were at jihyo's room. the little girl bounced on her bed, while yoongi just sat on the floor.

"i'm not... i'm more of a knight, your bodyguard perhaps." he explains. "are you my knight in shining armor, then?" jihyo gasps.

yoongi just laughs at her question, "we'll see."

since then, the two were unseparable. jihyo couldn't be seen without yoongi beside her, they're practically glued together.

yoongi would escort jihyo to her lessons, sometimes in town if they ever feel like escaping the castle, and other times, they'd just hang out in the garden.

the one time yoongi wasn't with jihyo was when he was ordered to do something. jihyo got really upset and left the castle by herself.

"he told me he wouldn't leave me alone." she grumbled, kicking small stones that were in her way.

she managed to get to the town by herself, surprised at the amount of people at this hour.

"maybe i shouldn't have gone here." jihyo gnaws her bottom lip. she turns around and makes her way back to the castle, but a group of men blocks her path.

"if it isn't the princess!" one of them said. jihyo took a step back, but at this point she was now surrounded by the group.

"and look, her knight in shining armor isn't here." he cooes and bends to jihyo's level. "move aside while i'm still asking nicely." jihyo glares at the man. "oh, i'm scared. someone help~" the man says in a teasing tone, making the rest laugh.

"i said," jihyo started, eyes raging, "move aside." she gritted her teeth. "or what?" the man raised his eyebrows, feeling challenged.

"or you'll spend the rest of your life in prison." a young man interjected. jihyo hurriedly turned at the source of voice, smiling as she saw him, her knight in shining armor. "yoongi!" the girl immediately ran to his side.

yoongi grabbed her hand and made her stand behind him as he dealt with the group of men. "let's not stir an unnecessary fight here, gentlemen." he calmly suggests.

"well then, we'll take our leave." he pulls jihyo away and doesn't glance back. "you're quite the troublemaker, aren't you?" he playfully scolds jihyo who was struggling to match his speed.

by the time they reached the palace, yoongi finally slowed down. jihyo grabbed his coat to stop him while she catches her breath.

"i thought you were on a mission." jihyo asks between her breaths. "i was, but i hurried back to see you."

now jihyo wasn't sure if her heart was beating quickly because of too much running, or because of his response.
