I opened my eyes slowly but closed them back as the bright light blinded me.  I groaned as my headache was killing me. I tried to open my eyes again but this time my eyes were adjusting to the lights. I felt the surface that i was lying on was comfy and soft.  Bed.  I was lying on a bed.  My body was covered with white blanket. I quickly sat up then eyed my surrounding. This must be hospital.

"Lyn!" Mom's voice echoed from the doorway. She just entered the room and tackled me with a hug. "Are you okay?"

"Mom..  Yes.  I'm fine. Get off me." I gently pushed her off me.  Mom patted my head with her eyes filled with tears.  I hated seeing her cry. "Mom,  I'm okay now."

"I know. I know.  You've been out for 12 hours." She told me.  I widened my eyes in shock as she finished her sentence. "We're very worried about you."

"Lyn!  How are you feeling?" Dad who just arrived asked me.  I was attacked by another tight hug.

"I'm fine." I regained my breath after dad released me.

"What happened?  Someone found you lying beside the road and brought you to the hospital." Dad said.  I quickly avoided their gazes. I didn't know if i should tell them.

"I-i was running away from school because some ghosts chased me.  I guess i just fainted because i was too scared." I wasn't lying about running away from school.  I couldn't let them know that demons were hunting me down right? Both of them looked at me with sad eyes.

"It must be very hard for you." Mom wrapped me around her arms and patting the back of my head. It was very comforting.

"This is getting out of hand." Dad ruffled his brown hair in frustration.  He stood up and started pacing around."We're really sorry,  Lyn. Sorry you have to go through this."

"It's okay." I assured them.  Then i realized something. "Then,  did the doctor saw my red eyes?"

I hesitated to enter my room.  I just got discharged from hospital two hours ago.  It just scary to witness what was waiting for me at the other side of this door. I took a deep breath then twisted the knob.  Nothing.  I let out a relief sigh then entered my room.

My room was a bit messy.  Well,  no matter how many times i tried to clean up,  it would always become messy the next day. So i kind of gave up and just let my room like this. It was messy but not dirty. I always cleaned up the dust and garbage. It just messy with my drawings.  Yes.  I draw.  I always drew when i was down which almost all the time.

I threw myself on my bed then exhaled.  I wasn't sure what i was seeing that time. Maybe that was just my imagination.  I never saw such creature.  I shook my head at my crazy thoughts.  Things changing.  Like this out of nowhere golden mark on my wrist.  No one could see it except for me. It was already there when i woke up.  I wondered what was the meaning of this mark.

I heard knocks on my door.  I sat up from my lying position and stared at the door.  I took a deep breath then got up.  I walked toward the door then unlocked it.  I opened the door and Adrian's face came to my view.  He smiled at me widely.

"Welcome home." He muttered cheerfully.  I nodded at him before returned to my bed and sat down. "Care to explain why did you ran away from school that day?"

"Who knows,  everyone does it once in a while." I replied while shrugging casually.  He frowned at my remark.

"What's going on, Lyn?  Tell me." He sat down beside me on the bed.  His concern stare looked into my eyes that were hidden behind my glasses.

"I was chased by ghosts.  So,  i ran away from school." I darted my eyes toward the wall in front of me,  avoiding his stare. "I was too scared that i fainted on the pavement."
