I locked myself in my room as soon as i came back home.  I didn't want to face any of my family for now. Today was just too much for me.

Few days ago i found out that demon started hunting me or more specifically my eyes,  then out of nowhere an angel named Xander was sent to protect me. Something big was coming.  The ghosts couldn't kill me but i bet the demons could since an angel was sent to protect  me. No.  I encountered demons before but they didn't manage to kill me.  A realization strucked me.  My eyes.  It wasn't my life that needed protection, it was my damn cursed eyes.

I sat down on my bed and my mind was going wild with thoughts and absurb assumptions. I grabbed the root of my hairs out of frustration.  I might as well gave my eyes to those demons if that what was it took for them to leave me alone. My life finally be at peace.

Few knocks on my door was enough to bring me back from the depth of my thoughts. I looked at the door and pondered whether i should open it.  What if it was Adrian?  I didn't want to talk to him right now. After a sigh,  i stood up and proceeded to open the door.

"Are you okay?" Irene's face came into view.  I just nodded and gave her space to enter my room. "You're sure?"

"I'm fine." I said with monotone.  She sat down on my bed while i was still standing at the doorway,  avoiding her gazes.

"You should make up with Adrian.  He just cares so much about you,  you know." Irene spoke. I bit my bottom lip still refusing to look at her.  "I notice something bothers you lately.  You..  Appear more..  Depress. Are you really okay, Lyn?"

"I'm okay,  Irene.  How many time i should say it to make you believe me?" I snapped at her.  Then,  guilt rushed over me as i realized about my unnecessary outbrust. "I'm sorry.  Yes,  I'll make up with Adrian later."

"Okay then." She returned to her usual cold self and stood up.  She exited my room without sparing me a glance anymore. I closed back the door and locked it.

I couldn't tell her or any of my family members.  They already suffered enough when they landed with me.  A girl that brought nothing but bad luck to them.  The only to keep them safe was shutting them out.

"You can't walk to school today." Dad ordered me.  I gave him my best disbelief face in returned.

"No.  I'm not riding in car." I insisted stubbornly.

"We don't want anything happens to you on the way to school." Mom reasoned.  I let out an exasperated sigh.

"I'll be fine.  It's not the first time i walk to school." I told them.  Mom and dad stared at me as if sending me a message that i couldn't protest them no more. "I'll give a call if I'm being chase by ghost okay?"

"Why do you prefer walking than riding in car?" Irene asked as she walked into the living room where me and our parents having a glaring competition. I looked at her.

"Last time i rode in car,  i got into an accident. So,  forgive me if I'm a bit traumatized now." I turned on my heels and heading toward the door.  Ignoring my parents calls.

They should let me decide on things.  I preferred walking to school because at least i had enough space to run away if things gone wrong.  It was different with car.  You would confined and locked inside the car with limited space.  I was paranoid enough to ride in car again.

"Good morning,  Lillian."  The gentle male voice sounded beside me causing me to jump in surprise.  Xander flashed me a very friendly smile.

"I told you don't call me that.  It's Lyn." I told him.

"My apology,  Lyn."  He said with so much gentleness making me to feel uncomfortable.
