Learned from my mistake before, i turned on my heels and ran away. As far as i knew, demon wouldn't attack me when other people were present. They waited until i was alone. Maybe that was the purpose, chasing me out into these empty hallways. Great. I was stupid.
I ran faster in the hallway. I didn't know where i was heading. I halted to a stop when the demon was now crawling in front of me. Its speed increasing and leaped toward me. It was happening too fast and my scream stucked in my throat. The dark thing slashed its sharp claws toward me and i closed my eyes, waiting for the impact but it never came.
"Stay out of my way you damn angel!" The demon yelled angrily. I opened my eyes and noticed Xander had arrived and stood in front of me, facing the demon. In his hand was the golden sword again.
"Never." Xander countered sternly. He moved toward the demon then in remarkable speed the sword slashing through its body. The demon scrambled backward while its blood flowing heavily. Its eyes now held a mix emotions between fear and anger.
"You-" before it could say anything, Xander made a move again but it leaped backward avoiding the golden sword. It curses and vanished.
"Thanks." I muttered slowly. Xander turned toward me and his sword disappeared. He avoided my eyes and smiled.
"You're okay?" He asked. I nodded and took a deep breath.
"I-i should get back to class." I said before he could speak. He nodded briefly and we walked side by side back to my class.
As we walked to my class. I could feel the awkwardness between us and it was suffocating. 'Way to go Lyn. You have to go and said that to him!' I scolded myself. I wondered if any of us could talk normally to each other like before. I should just kept my big mouth shut. I sighed heavily.
We eventually arrived back at my class. I knocked on the door and walked in. I felt his presence drifting away afterwards. When i entered the room, all eyes were on me. Great, my anxiety kicked in.
"I just come back from the restroom. Sorry, i can't hold it in." I muttered shyly to my teacher. The class erupted in laughter. Well, at least i could make them laughed. Mr. Harriot wasn't impressed with my excuse but decided to accept my excuse nonetheless.
"Take your seat." I nodded and hurrily sat down on my seat. I wasn't paying attention at all. Pardon me, i had more important things in my head that gained all my interest.

The lunch bell rang and as usual i made my way to the roof. My safe zone. I wondered if Xander would follow me there. Actually, i was anxious to meet him. Especially when there was no one around. I just hoped he gave up on convincing me to leave Chadwid.I climbed the stairs and finally arrived on the roof. I went to my favourite spot and sat down while leaned my back against the wall. I hugged my knees up to my chin and looked up at the bright blue sky. The weather looked nice today. I wished my life was peaceful as the sky. I took off my glasses and rubbed my eyes.
"Hey." I heard his voice in front of me. I opened my eyes and looked up at him. I saw a faint smile on his lips. He looked somewhat sad. It must be my fault.
"Hi." I greeted back then he sat down beside me. The awkwardness was back. Great. There was tense in the air and it wasn't comfortable at all.
"You're not hungry?" He asked to kill off the silent between us. He didn't look at my way when he spoke like he usually did.
"No." I answered simply. Great. I just killed the conversation he tried to build. I was right, we weren't talking afterwards. My guilt washed over me. I should be apologizing at my outburst today. What i said just mean and unnecessary. When i was about to say something, the words stuck in my mouth.
