Spending the evening of their six month mark of their relationship in the emergency ward of the local hospital wasn't exactly how either of them planned celebrating this momentous night. Robyn had been feeling up against it all day, blaming her breeze of the first trimester for her horrific second trimester. But when she collapsed to get up to go to the bathroom, he ran her straight to the emergency unit where they had been for the past four hours now. No one being able to tell him what's going on, or a slight insight into how Robyn was or their baby. He was told to wait outside and that he'd be informed as soon as possible. That was an hour ago.

"Are you the relation of Ms. Robyn Fenty?" The nurse asked with a comforting smile on her face. Maurice nodded, shuffling to the edge of his seat to give her his full attention. His eyes fixated on hers, hoping he could make out any bad news before she spoke on it.

"Good news! Robyn is fine, well, she's low on iron and baby is smaller than expected. But we've hooked them up to an IV and a monitor to ensure everything's okay with baby. She will need to be taking some extra supplements to ensure their health. Now the reason she passed out, she's not taking good care of herself is she?"

Maurice let those words sink in. Sure she had been in a low patch as of recent, but he didn't think she would allow herself to put their baby's life in danger... if not her own at that. He swallowed harshly as the nurse placated him with a small smile.

"It's hard when your not in the correct frame of mind to care for yourself, let alone when another life is involved. This could all just be down to how low she is in iron, but just in case I suggest you speak with her about what is about to happen in the next 6 and a half months. She should be awake any second now, and I'm sure you being there will be of great comfort for her. She's been asking for you in her sleep"

Maurice smiled at that thought, bringing him some light in this dark situation. He followed the nurse through to the room, looking over Robyn. She just looked so fragile, they had obviously changed her into one of their hospital gowns and had her hooked up to various different wires. His eyes teared up when he could make out the heartbeat of his unborn child. The nurse left him in peace as he collapsed by her bedside, his hands on her bump as he spoke and cried to his baby.

"I'm sorry, I'm so so sorry! I should've taken more care of you and mama, trusted my instincts... I knew something was up, tried to take care of everything for my baby, and still managed to let the both of you down..." he kissed her belly, it had slowly been growing, and was now fully rounded fitting perfectly in his large hands.

"Maurice, dont-" she held onto his hand as she cried with him. "Is the baby okay? Don't, please don't put the blame on you" she wiped his tears with her one hand.

"Baby is fine, smaller than he ... or she should be. But fine! But baby, you need to start taking care of yourself! If not for you then for our baby! I can only do so much for you, and if you can't meet me half way then we aren't going to get anywhere!"
