Maurice sat at a distance, swallowing this whole ordeal. He had dreamt of this moment, pictured it so vividly, he was almost confused that it wasn't playing out just as he planned. But instead it was just him and his baby...
Mijo had taken over the business, the slate wiped clean. But he wasn't as content as he swore he would've been. The business being a massive weight off of his shoulders.... but here he is... well to put it simply.... disappointed.
The baby was stirring, he held his breath hoping she would stay asleep just that bit longer. He needed more time to digest this mental block he was going through.
He would go about his day, barely! He would care for baby, but that's about it. He had lost all care for himself, their household. There was no motivation. Except baby, who made it hard for him to ignore that one responsibility. There was no doubt that baby was well cared for, and for now he attentively called her bean for now, because no name seemed to fit.
They hadn't discussed names...

He traced her beautiful features with his index. Each and every detail making up Beans face reminding him of Robyn. Tears filled his eyes at the thought. It was eerily silent when Bean was sleeping, a peacefulness he relished in for the first few moments. Her cry being one that demanded attention. So much like her mama!
"It'll be okay, it will all work out" he muttered to Bean, but more to himself. He was forever second guessing himself.
Switching on the news, he watched, almost recalled the events that led up to Beans birth. It was almost laughable how clueless the investigation team were, Mijo and his team making sure everything them was wiped after they relocated. The news made it look like some gang punch up, which it was of sorts, but the story they reeled on afterwards made him chuckle. They were so far from the truth. If it were up to him to tell it, he would for sure spin it up to be some kind of romantic fairytale or whatever. Although the ending wasn't all that of a fairytale.
Robyn laid up in hospital, she had bled so much and lost even more during birth, that it was near fatal. Maurice prayed on his lucky stars, even called on this Jah she spoke about. But nothing seemed to be changing. Going on day six, she was still unconscious, tied up to a million tubes, wires, the lot!
Bean woke up from her nap, he attentively got her dressed ready to go out. They had business to attend to. He was grateful for Sam's help with all this, not only looking after Robyn but showing him all he needs to know to care for his baby.

Maurice threw his head back in despair. He wasn't sure why he was hoping to see something different, because he was just disappointed each time. He laid their baby on her chest, a tear rolling down his cheek, why hadn't he thought of doing his before! Seeing them together he couldn't help but notice how it was just like a mirror image. His heart swelled in his chest. So drunk in love with this moment he swore he saw her eyes flicker. Shaking his head of the ridiculous thought, he scooped up their daughter. This was ridiculous, he thought. He got up, about to walk out, when his ears pricked up.
She let out a small cough, a slight whimper. He froze, not daring to to turn around, just incase his ears deceived him.
Another cough, a gasp for breath. Could she?- no she couldn't....
