Part 22 - Wolf mission

Amelie P.o.V.

When we came back to the tower after full moon there was another surprise waiting for us. I saw calm Fury and pissed Pepper sitting on the couch. I looked at Tony but he let me know that he doesn't know what is going on here. When we came closer they looked at us.

- Pack up you're going on the mission. - said Fury.

- We just came back. Give us a break. - said Tony.

- Not you Stark. Just wolves. They are the perfect people for this mission.

- Yes sir. - I answered.

- You Tony have different mission to accomplish. - said Pepper.

- What mission? - he asked surprised.

- You will finally come on meetings, make decisions, sign paperwork, etc. I can't do everything myslef

- Can I do it after I say goodbye to the pack?

- You start tomorrow Stark. Get ready we have a lot to do.

After she said it she left. I was listening to this weird conversation while reading information about a mission and making list of relevant equipment in my head. I was tired after full moon. But I am an Avenger which means that I cannot moan. When I finished I turned around to face the pack. They stood there patiently and looked at me with respect.

- What are you planing darling? - asked Tony.

- I will tell you later. Okay pack we are not taking any food. Take just two sets of clothes and underwear including your mission clothing. Take one pair of shoes. Based on your own skills choose relevant weapon for you to use. You have to also make sure you have a knife. Is that clear?

- Yes, ma'am. - said everyone and went to accomplish the command.

- Am, you can't go on the mission without any food. - said Natasha.

- Yes, we can. - I said it with strength in my voice.

- How? You will be there for a week maybe longer. - said Steve.

- Guys don't you remember that we are wolves? - asked Crystal. I smiled and kept packing my staff. - Our instincts are sharper than normal wolves. Which means that they won't let us die. We can hunt.

- Amelie is right when say not to take any food. Weight of the food will slow us down and make us worried about its storage. Smell of the food will bring to us other predators. We will be disrupted. We may be also easily found by enemies. Because of packaging and other staff we will have to leave behind us. As wolves we leave no packaging, no trace, no problems. When HYDRA will find our camp they will think that a pack of wolves are here but they will not suspect anything else. Because the base is in the middle of the forests.

- Oh this is your main plan? - asked Tony.

- Not entirely. After few days of observation we will break into and take something that SHIELD wants. - I said and finished packing.

I slowly checked on everybody in the pack and let us leave to the roof. When we got there I was really sad. I hugged Tony and started to cry on his shoulder. I didn't wanted to leave the tower.

- You will be back in a week.

- I know I am more worried about you than myself. You attract problems more than a honey attract a bear. - I told him.

He started to laugh. When we sat in the plane I turned my alpha mode. I wanted to be concentrated on the mission now. When we landed we quickly changed into wolves and made our way through the forests to HYDRA base. When we got there we hide in bushes and observed.

2 weeks later...

Tony P.o.V.

For two weeks now we have no contact with the pack. I was afraid that they've been taken by HYDRA. But Fury then would tell us something. We were sitting in the living room watching a film. I didn't even know what is this about. My thoughts kept running away to Amelie.

We heard some shouts from the corridor going from the roof. I quickly stood up and run to see what is going on. When I saw Amelie and Crystal all in blood my heart broke. We quickly took them to infirmary and check on them. I went to Ethan who had a few little injuries.

- What has happen?

- They knew about us. - he said this and looked at me with a pain.

- How? - asked Natasha.

- Wait. Me and Bruce will first take care of them and their injuries and then we will speak.

3 hours later.

We left Amelie and Crystal under machines who were supposed to control their functions and left to living room. We all took a sit and and looked at pack. They all sat sad. I felt like I need to say something that will cheer them up.

- What has happen back there? - asked Natasha.

- Our mission was going as planned... - started Matt.

- But on the day of the attack there was more soldiers than usual... - added Ethan.

- We couldn't get in touch with Fury so we had no idea what to do. We wanted to wait but they found us and opened fire at us... - added Zoe.

- We quickly broke in and took what we were supposed to. But they locked us out. We had no idea how to get away... - took over Ethan.

- Amelie and Crystal went on the first line. They took the major attack on them to let us go. We escaped. - ended Matt.

- Someone from inside, from SHIELD had to know about the mission and all of you. - said Steve.

- But who and how? When we are hiding somehow we look like a normal wolves maybe slightly bigger. They wouldn't recognize us. - said Ethan.

- But even through so many problems your succeed. Go get some rest. If you're hungry there should be pizza and dinner in the fridge. Don't worry about that anymore. At least everyone is alive. Rest of this does not matter any longer. - I stood up and left to check on Amelie and Crystal.

I heard someone following me. When I turned around I saw Buck. I stopped and waited for him to join me. When he did we carried on walking. In silence. None of us said anything. There was no need. We both know how the other one feels.
