The next morning, Beth woke up with messy red hair in her face, and she heard her alarm going off at 8 am. Her class did not start until 1 pm just after lunch, but she wanted to walk around and see some more parts of Hogwarts before then. She yawned getting up as she used her wand to change into a green long dress that had long sleeves and she wore pearls around her neck. She got into some white heels and she was ready to go. She grabbed her purse and walked out of the room locking it and she looked around. The halls were filled with children of all years, and she walked down the hall talking to some of them. She loved talking to them, and hearing their names as well. She would have some later in class. She walked to the courtyard seeing Madam Hooch teaching the students the art of flying on brooms. She hoped nobody would hurt themselves. She then walked on the soft grass. She saw the sun rising and she took a mental picture of the beautiful scenery. She hummed gently as she went back inside. Breakfast was happening very soon and she was so hungry. She would eat anything right about now.

She walked into the Great Hall and sat down in her seat. She was very early so she looked at the empty hall and sighed. She also had another goal in mind: she was 28 and she wanted to look for love. She was a hopeless romantic and she enjoyed being in love. She did have one boyfriend but they had a falling out years ago. She held her head as she heard footsteps coming near her.

"It seems I am not the only one who comes to the Great Hall early." The deep voice said as Snape sat down in his seat. "I was just taking some pictures of the sunrise outside." She smiled as Snape just glares at her. "When do you have your class?" Beth asked. "from 3 pm to 4 pm." He said as he looked at his watch. "An hour after mine ends. You mind if I come to watch you teach potions?" She asked smiling. He glared at her more annoyed that she asked that question. "Do you not have anything better to do with your time than gawking at me while I teach?" He asked as Beth was shocked. Again. "Well.....I......just wanted to......" She said as he added "Let me sit here in peace. I do not want to hear your irritating voice right now." She sank in her chair. He was so difficult to deal with and it was only the first official day.

Everyone else arrived at breakfast and she listened to Minerva speak to the students before eating her small breakfast. She knew how harsh Snape was, but there was something holding him back. Was it the loss he endured? Who was the woman that he used to love? She would do more research later. She didn't talk to anyone because Snape wasn't talking to her and she was at the end of the table. She sighed. At least her class was going to be fun. She finished her breakfast early before leaving the table and running to her classroom. She started decorating the kitchen as if it was her home. She made sure there were roses on the windowsills and everything was clean and precise. She hummed a bit as she looked at the room. It was so homey and cute now. "I bet Snape's Potions room is dreary and dark like he is." She giggled to herself as she started to get out the ingredients for today's class. They were going to make some cookies today. She decided that on the first day of class they should all get to know each other, but she also realized that she needed to follow the Hogwarts guidelines. She grabbed all the papers and she put them on each long table. They were the instructions for making the Hogwarts cookies. She then sat on the counter and looked at the sun coming in. She was thinking about how to crack Severus Snape down. He was so harsh and so rude, but.....she wanted to still talk to him. Why though? He's literally so evil but something was making her go to him. She would not give up. She would still go to his class after hers was over no matter how angry he got.

Lunch came around and she had been in her classroom for a long time. She fixed her long hair that was slightly in her face and she got up looking at the time. She should probably go upstairs and eat lunch. She looked around checking to see if everything was in place for her first class at Hogwarts. She was definitely nervous. She had to do well and she most importantly had to prove to Snape that her class was legitimate and not dumb like he was probably thinking. She then walked out of the room and locked it, before she proceeded up the stairs and walked to the Great Hall. She saw several Gryffindors walking there as well and she said hello to them. "Hi Professor Washington! I can't wait to attend your class! I love cooking!" One of the third-year girls said as they all nodded in agreement. "Aww! Well, I hope you learn a lot about yourself in the class and also to eat some good food!" Beth smiled widely as she giggled walking in with them. As she departed them, she looked up seeing Snape glaring at her darkly. Geez, what was with this man? She sighed as she went to her seat next to him and she mentally told herself to talk to him. The term was "kill them with kindness", but it was super hard to do that to Professor Severus Snape.
