Beth woke up slightly around 10 am. Classes were no longer going for this semester, so she would be able to relax and finally spend quality time with Severus. She noticed that he was still sleeping, his breathing so deep, and slightly snoring. His head was on her shoulder and she smiled lightly. Her braided bun was more of a mess now, and she slowly slithered out of his space and tucked him under the blankets. It was very cold and she was bare naked. "Need.....another....blanket." She sighed as she quickly ran to his closet, looking for one. She could not find one. She put her hands on her hips and shook her head. "Guess I will use...." She mumbled as she grabbed one of his robes. "This." She said as she put it on and it was so big on her. She looked in the mirror and she wondered what she should do today. "Hmm...I think I will go to Diagon Alley. I haven't been there since the beginning of the school year." She said as she looked around for an ink and quill. She grabbed the quill and wrote a note for Severus. She then looked back at him sleeping in his bed, and she turned to leave for her quarters. The letter said "Severus, will be at Diagon Alley most of the day. I treated myself to some shopping and sightseeing. Love, Beth."

After retrieving her bag and some Sickles, she put on a heavy black coat and some long knee-high boots to cover her up more. She placed his robe neatly on her bed, folded up. She thought about buying a Christmas gift for Severus. Yes. That is what she would do. She then closed the door to her quarters and she waved her wand around, apparating to Diagon Alley. She knew that compared to Hogsmeade, Diagon Alley was full of shadier creatures but she knew how to protect herself now. Much better than she was when she first went out into the wizarding world.

She arrived in the center of the town, Gringotts Wizarding Bank standing right in front of her. She looked at the people and some stared at her. She wondered why. She walked around for a bit, and people whispered and pointed at her. She was so confused. Why would they stare at her like that? She found a newspaper stand and she picked one of them. She saw the front cover and gasped. It was a moving picture of Severus Snape and her, yesterday, at the Yule Ball. They were kissing and holding each other close. The headline said this: Severus Snape Smitten With New Professor. "So....the great Severus Snape has indeed fallen." A familiar voice said behind her. Why was it so familiar? Then, it hit her. That deep and smooth voice. She slowly turned around and her heart dropped. The one person that she did not want to see again. Never. Ever. Ever.

"Cornelius Malfoy." She mumbled as he stood there with his cane at his side and he wore a smirk on his face. His long platinum blonde hair was groomed, his suit a dark velvet green and with white cuffs. His shoes had great details on them and he looked down at her. "Hello, my pet." He spoke as she glared at him. "I am not a pet!" She said as he chuckled. "Oh, but are you so sure?" He asked as she bit her tongue. "Follow me, my dear. Let us take a stroll." He said that she did not want to, but you could not say no to an offer like that. She was forced into it. She kept her opinions to herself as she walked with him through the busy streets.

"So....you seem to have settled in well." He spoke as she nodded but did not look at him. "Yes. I enjoy being at Hogwarts. The students are bright and wonderful to work with. I enjoy the professors as well, though a few still don't like me." She said as he nodded. "Hm. Indeed." He said as his eyebrow rose. "Must say, you look lovely today." He added as she just nodded, accepting the compliment but not saying the words out loud. "Why so modest? You should be more confident. Show your pride." He spoke as she shook her head. "I do not want to sound like a cocky person. I am not like you." She said as he laughed at her. "Oh, you do not disappoint my pet." He said as she stopped in front of him. "I am NOT your pet! Stop playing around!" She said annoyed. He laughed again. "Silly woman. I do as I please. Especially with women." He said as he pushed her gently out of his way. "Come along." His voice finished as she huffed and walked with him. After all, she did not have a choice.
