"Ohhhh wowwww she really tried it!" Lavae said as she ate some chicken tenders buffed in sweet and spicy sauce. I shook my head drinking my water, "girl I don't know who the fuck she thought I was" I said pulling out my phone texting my bestfriend. Me and my bestfriend haven't been talking as much lately. We kind of fell off ever since she got with this boy who I believed wasn't no good for her. I haven't even seen her in days, every time I come home she's either at work or with him and when she does come home she doesn't even speak any more like she used too. I would say this boy she's with is changing her but I'll let her come around on her own.

Me and Lavae been hanging out a lot lately and we started becoming more close. We would link up a lot throughout the week and go places and hang out. She's really fun to be around and I enjoyed her company and telling her things. Lavae break was over so she had to go back to work. I got up to get a refill on my drink while looking at a message from my second mom telling me to call her ASAP. As I was walking I bumped into someone by accident not paying attention. "Oh I'm sorry I wasn't paying attention to where I was going" I said as I picked up my cup that fell. I looked up to the person I bumped into, she had on a work hat so she must've worked here. "Nah you good...aye Lavae pass me a cup." She said walking over to the counter to grab the cup from Lavae. She came back over to where I was and handed it to me. "Oh thank you but you didn't have to do thatttt" I said grabbing the cup smiling. "Nah it's cool." She said looking at me giving me a slight smile. I looked at her getting a good look at her face, "oooo she's cute." I thought to myself. She was lightskin with freckles all over her face and she had glasses and braces. Her hair was a honey blonde and she was a little taller than me. I could tell she was gay by the way her pants sagged a little. My phone started ringing and I looked at my phone seeing a missed call. It was my second mom, "oh shoot I forgot" I said opening my phone remembering that she said to call her. I got worried because she even dm me on Instagram saying to call her as well. I pressed the FaceTime button, "Hey I'm so sorry I didn't ge-" I stopped talking once I saw who was on the phone. My face went into a mug and I instantly got annoyed. "What do you want mani?" I asked rolling my eyes at the fact that she was pretending to be her mother to get in contact with me. Mani was my ex that I met last summer through Instagram. We started talking serious and then she moved to atl and we got together. Shit was all good in the beginning of our relationship until like around 6 months. She started being controlling and abusive so I left. She still continued to stalk me and make fake accounts to talk to me afterwards and she even had a girlfriend while she was doing all of this, the same girl she cheated on me with. Me and her mom become close during our relationship, she treated me like I was one of her own. After me and mani broke up me and her mom still stayed in contact and she still helped me with anything I needed and called me her child. I loved her like she was my own mother. "What you doing? Where you at?" I looked at her like she was stupid. "Why mani? What do you want?" I asked again getting ready to hang up the phone on her. "Hey Evoni are you coming over?" Her sister asked. I loved her siblings they were so sweet to me and they called me their sister. "Hey is that Evoni how she doing? We miss her." I heard her aunt say. Her whole family loved me and brought me in when I had nobody. It felt like home...even though me and mani was over and she was a crazy ass abusive ex, I never let that ruined the bond I had with her family. Her family don't know about mani abusing me, they didn't even know we weren't together. They just thought we were close friends, but that's the act I always had to play whenever I came around them. Pretending like me and mani were close friends. I couldn't let them know about her she would use it against me and I was afraid they wouldn't believe me anyways. She always told me that if I told anyone what happened between us I wouldn't be able to speak or see her family again and I believed her. I couldn't afford to jeopardize that, I needed them. I have no family up here and they were the only people that felt like home. "Yes I'm coming over right now" I told them. The sister smiled and I hung up the phone before mani could say another word. I sighed as I walked out of zaxbys looking back to wave bye at Lavae. I felt someone staring at me and it was the girl I bumped into. I smiled and waved at her before leaving.
