Chapter 17

I pulled out my phone texting Lavae:bitch I think somebody got shot. I sent as the code red continued. It's been almost a hour and a Half and we still was in the same spot waiting for something to happen. "Ok kids we are having early dismissal from class today. There has been a incident and we are taking care of it now. You may now head outside to your vehicles or busses." The principle said on the income. I stood up heading out the classroom and there was a crowd of polices and teachers around the hall. I walked outside listening to all the commotion, "I heard it was a girl that got shot." One girl said sending me chills. I had a bad feeling over my body. I was getting closer to my car until I heard this one girl. "Yea the girl that got shot had freckles. I never seen her before around school." I stopped in the middle of the street. I slowly looked around the parking lot and spotted a familiar car. I walked closer as I saw the tag on the window. It was tyun car. I slightly turned my head towards the group of people surrounding the ambulance with their cameras out and hand on their mouth. My heart started racing. "Please don't let it be her." I said to myself as I ran over to the crowd. My heart sunk when I approached the scene. I felt my body become weak as I saw who was on the stretcher. "Baby" My voice cracked trying to make sure I was thinking straight. I pulled out my phone calling her number. I heard the ring and I slowly looked up and my mouth dropped as I saw the flash from a phone come from the stretcher. "BAAABBYYY!" I screamed as I ran to the stretcher pass the officers and firefighters. "BABBBBY NOOOOOO." I yelled as I got closer finally seeing her. She was laid out on the stretcher with her eyes closed. I was grabbed by a officer as I screamed and cried trying to get loose. I then sunk into his arms as I cried and watch them put her in the ambulance. I then jumped out of his arms running to my car. I was going to follow the ambulance to the hospital. I had to be by her side. I drove in silence as my heart beat fast. I felt like I was dreaming nothing today felt real it couldn't be. Why was tyun at my school? "This gotta be a fucking dream." I said to myself as I chuckled. No later than 10 minutes I arrived at the hospital jumping out the car leaving everything inside including my keys. I saw them pull her out the ambulance rushing her inside. I ran over to them, "BABY!" I screamed as I came by her side. I held her hand and I felt her squeeze it letting me know she was still alive. I cried as I cracked a smile, "You gonna be okay baby I promise. I'm here okay? I'm here" I said as I cried harder not believing my eyes. "Ok mam ima need you too step away." The nurse said pulling my hand away from hers. As they took her inside I went over to the front desk. "Where are they taking her? That's my girlfriend she got shot I need to be by her side please tell me where they taking her." I begged the lady as tears came down my eyes. "I'm not sure mam but I promise once she's settled I'll figure it out and let you know." She said sincerely. I thanked her and walked over to the waiting area and sat down. I just sat there and stared into space lost and confused. If this is a dream I need to wake up already. I sighed as I held my head feeling myself getting a migraine. I cried to myself. I felt my phone vibrate and I checked it seeing I had 12 missed calls and 10 messages from Lavae. I scanned over the messages and felt myself about to cry again when I read over the first one again. Tyun came to my school to have lunch with me, she was going to surprise me. It was all my fault. I looked up and saw the lady from the front desk walking over to me. "Her room number is 204 but she's about to go into surgery." She said to me. My eyes got big as I looked up at her, "do you know where she's been shot?" I asked hoping it wasn't as bad as it seems. She shook her head no making me put my head down...

For 8 hours I stayed at the hospital waiting for tyun to get out of surgery. I fell asleep in the waiting room but woke up when I felt a tap on my shoulder. I looked up and saw a doctor. "She's out of surgery Miss." He said to me with a smile. "Thank god. Is she okay? Where was she shot?" I asked thinking of more questions to ask. "He looked down at his clipboard," she was shot in the side. It did hit the nerve system so she might have some difficulties with walking for awhile and using her hands." He said to me. I looked down and cried. "SO SHE'S PARALYZED?!" I cried out. "It's not permanent miss. She should be back to normal I say in about 5 months." He said. 5 MONTHS?!! My girlfriend has to be crippled for 5 fucking months all because of me. "You're welcome to go see her." He said. I got up and quickly went down the hall to her room. I slightly opened the door and stared at her from the entrance. My heart sunk when I saw her laying there asleep. I slowly went inside walking towards the bed. I sat down in the chair next to her looking at the needles inside of her. I caressed her cheek as I pushed her hair behind her ear. I held her hand and kissed her forehead and lips. I laid there holding her hand as I fell asleep in the chair.
