My Secrets (Jim Halpert love story)

The end of the first day

After I had met everyone in this strange place, I took my seat at my desk and started looking at my leads to see where I should begin. I was starting to get bored and I let out a sigh, I looked up at the clock and it read 4:30 pm. I groaned and carried on doing some work.
I started to put my coat over my shoulders to
shield me from the cold outside the doors, because Scranton wasn't the warmest of places. I was about to leave when Jim spoke up

"Hey Emily, some of us are going to Poor Richards tonight, you're welcome to join us as you're part of the team now"

"Oh thanks, yeah I think I'll join, it'll be nice to get to know people out of the office. Where is poor Richards by the way?" I replied quizzically.

"Here give me your phone, I'll put my number in it and I'll text you the address, I'll meet you outsid at, say 7pm?" Jim said as he typed his phone number into my phone.

"Great I'll see you then!" I replied as I walked out of the building towards my car

I drove off in the direction of the hotel I was currently at. I opened the door and placed my bag on the small dresser. I threw off my work clothes and placed on a a pair of blue jeans and a jumper. I checked my phone and an unknown number sent me a text and I instantly knew it was Jim. So I put his contact into my phone and read the instructions on how to get to the bar. I checked the newly placed clock on the wall and it read 6:40 pm so I decided to head down to my car and make my way to 'Poor Richards'.

Once I arrived I was a few minutes early and I saw Jim waiting at the door. I grabbed my purse and locked my car. I headed towards to door and greeted Jim.

"Hey I'm not late am I?" I broke the silence

"No no not at all, I just decided to get here earlier incase you got here early, which you did" he responded with a smile

"Oh look at us go, telepathically connecting already!"

I smiled politely and sweetly at him and we headed through the door of the bar and we were greeted with an already drink Meredith, a giggly Kevin and an irritated Oscar and Angela. Kelly and Ryan were also here but they were fighting out the back according to Oscar. Andy then entered the bar along with Phylis and I'm assuming her husband. They joined us and Jim got me a beer and we started chatting. He told me about this old receptionist Pam who left to live with her husband, Roy? I think his name was. I leant that Jim fell in love with her and he is still trying to get over her. But so far he's had no luck. Which kinda sucks, for him.
I was talking to Andy about his college days and how he was an acapella singer, he was going to demonstrate but I soon stopped him from embarrassing us all.
It was almost 9:30 pm and we all had work in the morning. I said my goodbyes and Jim walked me to my car for "safety" reasons. We both said goodbye and I headed out of the car park and I was able to see him waving back at me in the mirror. I carried on driving back to my small hotel room .
I walked into the lobby of the hotel with a smile growing on my face. I knew I'd learn to love it at this crazy place. There are definitely some different characters at my new work but I think it'll be good for me. Now Jim, ohhhhhh jim. I instantly knew I'd develop a tiny crush on him after the first day but I knew it wouldn't work so I'll shut down the feelings until I find another guy, that's if I do. I just don't want anyone to find out about what I used to do before I joined Dunder Mifflin. If they find out I'd be hearing it for the next however many years I work there and I really wouldn't like that at this time in life. Before I knew it I was lost in my thoughts and the time got to 10:30 pm. I went into the bathroom, washed my face, brushed my teeth, brushed through my hair and changed into my pyjamas and headed to bed awaiting a new day at Dunder Mifflin in the morning and hopefully Michael is off my back because I really don't like his pet names for me.
