The 18 Months After

Emily's interview
"So how are you and Jim?" The camera crew questioned me.

"We are going great, it's been way over year now since we have been together and it's been amazing and he's amazing" I said as I looked through the blinds of the conference room at Jim with a smile and he turned around, waved and smiled back at me.

Jim's interview

The camera crew asked Jim the same question about us and he replied with
"I'm going to ask her" he said and showed the camera crew a little navy box in hidden away in his trouser pocket. He smiled the biggest smile ever.
"I bought this a week after we started dating, hate it in my pant pockets ever since"

Emily's POV

Me and Jim have been doing great for the past year and it was amazing, he's amazing and I love him so much even tho neither of us have said it yet. Which is a tad weird, but I know he loved me, well I hope. I mean 18 months and not saying "I love you" I was kinda worried, but I was also happy. Everyone in the office knows now and they were all pretty excited for us especially Michael. Erin and Oscar have been amazing friends and I couldn't ask for better. Phylis who is like my mother in the office was over the moon when I told her that me and Jim were together

Jim's POV

I've been planning this engagement for at least 5 months now. I got her a simple but elegant diamond ring which hopefully fits her. I know we haven't said "I love you" yet but I know I do love her and I want to spend the rest of my life with her and I want to change her last name to mine and I want to have her kids. I knew I was in love when she first walked into the office.

Emily's POV

I had been thinking about marriage with Jim and wondering if he felt the same. In a couple of months it will be 2 years since we got together and nothing major has really happened other than some crazily weird office parties that Michael throws over the tiniest things. I do want to spend the rest of my life with Jim.
I was sitting at my desk making a sales call,

"Well Mr Lewis, I can give you a much better offer compared to staples"
I said as I looked over at Oscar with a look that said 'This guy is a huge client and we need him'. Oscar instantly understood what my look meant and he crunched some number and gave me a thumbs up.

"I can also offer you free delivery for the first 5 months" I gleefully announced to my new big client.

He took my offer and I hung up the phone, I looked over at Jim who looked so proud.

"I got the sale!" I whispered/ screamed to him

"I'm so proud of you baby" he said with a smile and we both air high fived.

I was so ecstatic after getting this sale I was fidgety all day and nothing could make it better.

"Hey Jim are you ever going to propose to Emily" Dwight announced.

Me and Jim both looked up from our computer screens and looked at him.

"Well it is coming" Jim finally replied.

I just sat there shocked with a big smile on my face and Jim was smiling back. The clock hadn't even struck 11 am before Michael called a conference room meeting. Everyone groaned in unison as we made our way into the conference room. I say in the third row from the front with Jim next to me on my left.

"Ladies and gentleman I have a big announcement" Michael exclaimed rather loudly

We all stared back at him blankly waiting for him to reply.

"I have a girlfriend" he squealed

I didn't even have to look around the room because I knew at least 10 of us rolled our eyes. Oscar was clearly annoyed and he let out.

"Michael did you really have to call a conference room meeting about this?" He said in an annoyed tone.

"Do you all not care about my love life? Because you're all invested in Jim and Emily's" Michael retaliated

Everyone started getting annoyed at Micheal and then he finally gave up and started making a presentation up on the spot to defect from his previous statement.

"Hey Em, I know we've been together a long time now and I" Jim started.

"No don't you dare propose to me in a Micheal meeting because I will say no" I said as I looked at him blankly.

"Oh well good because I was going to tell you that you have an eyelash on your cheek" He giggled.

I smacked his chest and rolled my eyes at him.

The meeting was finally over and Micheal still seemed upset about what his co-workers had said about his "girlfriend".

"Hey Jim, why don't you go see if Micheal is okay?" I asked him.

"Yeah you're right"

He got up out of his desk and knocked lightly on his bosses door. He opened the door and went in.

Jim's POV

"Hey Michael" I softly spoke

"What do you want" he replied irritated

"I'm here to apologise for what everyone was saying" I replied in a apologetic tone.

He was still looking down at his desk

"Want to know a secret?" I questioned him

"Sure" he huffed.

"You can't tell anyone Michael not till tomorrow, promise?" I said sternly

"I promise" he said with puppy dog eyes

"I'm going to ask Emily to marry me!" I quietly exclaimed

"OMG!" He screamed

"Shush!" I tried to quieten him down

"This is huge!!" He replied

"I know" I said as I replied with a smile

"But you can't say anything Micheal" I looked at him sternly

I just told the biggest blabber mouth in the history of blabber mouths what I was going to do.
