"Do you think they still see the sunsets?"

"I don't know, Ty. Maybe you can help them to."

Change of plans.

That's what Tyler had been told by the Time Keeper Database. All of this wasn't just an effort to rescue the missing Keepers. With the more that they found out about NATN, the less confident they were that Tyler would be able to break into their compound, rescue the Keepers and make it out alive... running blind the entire time.

At this point, the only way they could try to escape was by having an eye on the inside for a while. NATN would know that Tyler, one of the few Keepers to endure abuse and live to tell the tale, was a prime abductee. He had endurance, strength, heart...

More than enough reasons to try and break him.

So it was now an "infiltration mission." The orders were simple: Get as close as possible, send Tyler out as "bait" and wait for the match to be lit.

Being willingly kidnapped hadn't been part of the original plan. But Tyler had been imprisoned before... and he had made it out alive.

Those Keepers deserved to have that same chance.

"How long do you think I'll be in there?" Tyler's voice was quiet, barely audible over the sound of the engines.

After a layover, the longest part of the trip was finally underway. Flying into the next day was disconcerting, not only because of the major time difference, but also what laid ahead.

"I don't know." Josh had been saying that a lot ever since they got the news. Tyler couldn't fault him for it, though, because, honestly, he didn't know either. "I hope not too long. I don't want your Time Keeper to get low, like it was when we first met."

"Me neither." Tyler sighed before looking at his Protector with a small, but sad smile on his face. "My Time Keeper is better than it's ever been, so I'm not too worried about that. I just want to help them."

"And you will. You're so brave, Tyler." Josh intertwined their fingers. "I don't know if I could do it, if I'm being totally honest. I'm too much of a scaredy-cat."

"So am I." Tyler chuckled, albeit dryly. "But I I could've easily been in the same position as them. So I need to try and help them in whatever way that I can. I wouldn't be able to live with myself if I didn't."

"You're gonna do great." Josh's voice lowered to a whisper as he leaned his forehead against Tyler's, eyes closing. "So, so great."
