I Can't Father

I was walking in the park when I saw two boys playing,
It took me back to my days when I was; but a boy,
I could see how much they longed for a father figure.
It was then when I realized I could take a boy and train him to be a man.
A man that would be there for his sons and daughters,
A man who'd discipline his son,
A man that will be there for his son,
One that would train him to stand on his point,
A man that can understand when it's not yet his time and can patiently wait,
A man that can be there when his son has his first match,
A man that would be there when the son has his first sermon to preach,
A man that will coach other young man and not just sit in his couch.

But yet; at the same time I realized that I too needed a man that would be a father to me,
One that would not just buy me what I needed,
A man that would not just pay for my school fees,
One that would not just be there when I was cold,
A man that would not just greet me and after that leave for work,
Come back and rest cause he is tired,
A man that would not just have tried to please me by getting what I wanted,
But a man that would teach me how to be a father,
How to be a man that fears God,
On that loves his wife and no other,
A man that would sit down with his boy and talk real life issues,
One that won't hide behind the bible but take the bull by its horn,
A man that would that would teach his son what dating is and not tell him not to be in a relationship,
Instead I'd teach him how to stir the ship into the right direction,
I'd teach him the beauty of identifying feelings and yet being able to control himself.
I'd teach him how to react to heart break and how not to hurt his loved ones.

The worst thing is to see a generation that has made cheating a norm in their society,
Man cheat on their wives, woman cheating on their husband without fear! The fear of God has departed from them and they now Entertainment the pleasures of this temporary fast fading temple!
