Our Broken Hearts [Zack x reader]

The murderer is...

-still rani's POV-

"[Y/n]..." I answered with a monotone vioce.

"No this is not true!" Zack defended."[Y/n] is not the murderer! I know it!"

"When I was talking to her, she looked a bit like she was losing her sanity. Like she had stabbed someone." I replied.

"That's not possible! Why would she kill somebody in this school?!" Zack shouted even louder causing me to get frightened and start sobbing.

"I-i'm sorry...!" I sobbed even harder. He assaulted me for jumping to conclusions. Gray and wendy were standing there too frightened to do anything. "Gommen... gommen... gommen!" I apologized.

I was on the floor scared to death by Zack. I could barely move a muscle. My skin was bruised so badly that it bled. Zack picked me up by my scarf to punch me in the face. He dropped me on the ground and left.

My face hurt from crying. My vision was blurred. I could barely see Zack's feet walk off into the distance. I heard footsteps of many other people. They probably sent more people to help. My friend, Lyon, picked me up and brought me to the infirmary. He examined my wounds and applied medicine.

"Here take this," He handed me a bowl of soup. "Who did this to you?"

I was too scared to tell. If I tell, Zack might hit me even harder. I started crying like the weak little shit I am. Lyon comforted me. He was like the brother I never had. I do have a brother but he'd never treat me like this. Whenever I needed someone, he would always walk away.

I cried even harder at the thought. I soon fell asleep in Lyon's arms.

-Zack's POV-

It was lunchbreak. I hoped what Rani said wasn't true. [Y/n] would only kill at home. Rani walked through the doors bandaged everywhere. This silver haired guy was supporting her.

I didn't mean to hit that hard. I was brought out of my thoughts when the principal made a speach. "We'll need a replacement for Rani."

No one dared to raise their hand besides this girl in a maid costume. "I would like to go."

"Very well, what is your name?" The principal asked.

"Rita, Rita Rossweisse." She replied. I looked over to Gray and he was glaring daggers at me. I tried not to look frightened on the outside but truly, I was scared.

-the next day-

I woke up to find myself in the middle of nowhere. "Hey Zack~ long time no see," a familiar voice said. [Y/n] walked up to me with a bloodied knife and corpses of students in the background as she turned on the light. Her cloths were all bloodied as well.

I was tied to a wall and no matter how hard I tried. I couldn't budge. She held up Rachel's body and held her knife to her neck and gave me crazed eyes. What Rani said was... true...

I actually cared about lives. I cared about Rachel's life. Although she's a shit head I cared. I cared about all the people I killed. I killed them for fun to see what happened and I was just hoping Rachel and I could be friends but... [y/n]'s gone completely mad!

"I know what you truly think about her. I want you to do something for me and if you do it properly, she lives." She said in her crazed voice.

"What do you want me to do?" I asked.

"I want you to kidnap Rani. No questions. Got it?" She told me.

"Fine..." I feel bad for Rani. I assumed it was still night and I was set free to go back to school. I saw Rani sleeping in the infirmary bed and picked her up. I muttered a soft apology on the way back to the house.

-a few minutes later-

I reached the house and passed her to [y/n]. "Thank you," She thanked me. What I saw next was awful. She took off her bandages, causing Rani to wake up, she then punched her as hard as she could with a psychotic laugh. Me and Rachel just stood there in shock.

Besides the chaotic laughter, Rani's cries were the second loudest thing. [Y/n]'s next act was terrible... she took her knife and started stabbing Rani... "STOP PLEASE! AHHHH" Rachel covered her mouth as she backed away. Soon [y/n] backed away from Rani. I examined her eyes. Soulless... she's dead.

I ran out of the house as quickly as I could. I got back to school as quickly as I could but that was a few hours because I had to take and put up the wooden planks. It was the same process.

I ran to the school hall mortified. I felt truly guilty for Rani's death. It was only 4 am so I went back to sleep.

-6 am-
-Gray's POV-

I went to check on Rani to see her missing. I immediately went to Zack who was awake and staring at the ceiling like he was thinking of dark thoughts. I got closer and he was muttering things like, "I'm so sorry Rani, please forgive me..."

I took Zack by the shoulders and asked, "What do you mean by those words?"

"I... I... I brought Rani to her death..." He responded scared.

I was about to punch him in the guts but then Juvia tapped my shoulder. "Gray-sama, calm down. Juvia is sure Rani-san is happier in the sky. If you are feeling lonely, just remember Rani-san is always there for you."

What a supportive friend. She first wasn't very supportive of me and Rani's relationship but decided to move on.

-Rani's POV-

I forgive Zack. I've wanted to die since I was young. [Y/n] made my wish come true. Therefore she is someone I love in a friend way.

I was sitting on a cloud staring at earth, the land below me. Suddenly, someone tapped me on the shoulder. She sat down next to me and said, "the afterlife is great isn't it?" I simply nodded. It felt great to leave the real world. It was a crappy life anyway.

"What's your name?" I asked.

"Mavis Vermilion," Mavis said.

"Nice to meet you Mavis! I'm Rani." We shook hands and smiled. I found had a friend in the afterlife. I could tell she was a true one.

-[y/n]'s POV-

I woke up from my long slumber as the demon that had been controlling my body left me. "I'm done." It said. I layed there limp on the ground. I saw piles of students dead corpses and... Rani's body?! No... this can't be real...!

This has to be a dream! Wake up! Wake up! I tried my best but nothing happened... this is reality... I couldn't believe my eyes. I tears ran down my eyes as I continued to stare at my friend's lifeless body.

"I hate myself! I hate myself! I hate myself!" I shouted repeatedly.

I got up from the ground and went to the school. I bust down the doors with my fists and tried to find everybody.

I walked to the hall and saw the whole school. "Zack!" I exclaimed as I ran towards him with the largest smile in the world.

"Stay away from me you monster! I'm with Rachel! I would never date a monster like you!" He shouted.

I froze. I stood there with tears threatening to spill. I covered my face with my hands and let it all out. My knees made contact with the floor and I cried as hard as I could.

-Rachel's POV-

I grinned. Finally... I get the man of my dreams...
