Chapter 21

-Kate's POV-

"[y/n]! [Y/n]! Guess what happened!" I exclaimed as I approached my sister who was waiting in her room patiently. She turned around and gave me the questioning look. "Tae asked me on a date!"

"Congrats...!" She said. She seemed a bit disappointed, but still putting on a smile. "When is it?"

"Tomorrow, 3:00 pm!" I replied. [Y/n] then told me she'd get my clothes ready for me. She has better fashion style than me anyway so I could trust her.

-a few minutes later-

"AH!!" Me and [y/n] both heard a shriek. I dropped my phone on my bed without pausing my game. [Y/n] did the same but with a pen. We pushed the door open and rushed down the hallway. Climbed down the stairs, checked everywhere in the house then checked the backyard.

We opened the door to see a man dressed in all black. He had a threatening look in his eyes. "Follow me," He said. We did as told.

"Where are you bringing us?" [Y/n] asked in a fierce tone.

"You want to bring your friend back right? I heard she made some friends up there and I can bring them along," He explained.

"You mean you can bring Rani back?!" We shouted in unison."But why?" I asked.

"A purge is going to start... not every herrscher is present. Only herrschers are able to stop an issue like this."

-after some running-

"We're here," the man said. He had led us into an alleyway. But there was something strange about it. There was this large surge of magic energy from somewhere.

"Release," the man chanted. We saw a faint glowing circle on the ground. "Great only one more use left..."

"Wait," [y/n] started."Who are you?"

Then, he took off his hood and mask. Turns out he was a boy with blonde hair and emerald green eyes. He actually looked really kind. Then he put on his hood and mask again.

"What is your purpose?" I asked.

"I'm the person who gave Rani her herrscher powers," He said."Ready to start the ritual?"

"What's your name?" [Y/n] asked.

"Eugeo."

"Last name?" Both me and [y/n] started getting annoyed.

"I've been researching for so long that I've forgotten my last name..." He said with some sweat dropping down his forehead.

"Why did you choose Rani as a herrscher?"

"I've seen what she can do. In primary school, she would always be alone training. I sneeked up on her everytime during recess. After a while, I decided to give the herrscher stone to her." Eugeo explained. "Now can we start?"

"Sure."

He began chanting a few words we couldn't understand.

-21 minutes later-

We saw Rani's body lying flat on the floor. She looked emotionless and pale. Her hair had changed at the ends, wasn't sure about the eye colour. Out of the blue, Eugeo picked her up.

We began running back to our place. "Why did you need us there?" [Y/n] said, ruining the silence.

"I needed the presence of 2 other people for the ritual." He said. We climbed over the fence with a lot of struggle, except for Eugeo, then went back inside the house. He went to the couch and layed Rani on the couch.

-[y/n]'s POV-

He then ordered me to look after Rani. Eugeo then exited the house.

-a few minutes later- (sorry for all the time skips I'm just lazy)

Rani's eyes slowly widened. She awoke with eyes that looked like they were frozen.

"REEEE WHY CAN'T I BEAT GANESHA!!!!" Kate screamed all the way from our room. Rani got up and walked down the hallway, up the stairs and into the our bedroom. I followed her. She then assisted Kate in defeating the boss with different weapons and stig... what again?

She seemed like a pro at it, although she never played video games much. I mean that is my opinion. "Hey Rani? How do you know so much about this stuff? You've never played games much."

"Oh I play games in my free time and that's when I'm alone," she briefly explained.

"Ok."

Kate looked at the way Rani played in awe. I then began to wonder, when is the purge going to start?

"Hey Rani, what level are you??" Kate asked.

"66," She replied. Kate's jaw fell. "What? It's not a big deal. Most of the players in this game are maxed so I'm not that good."

"What do you mean your not THAT good?"

-10 minutes of disagreement-

Finally... they stopped arguing... I'm just gon-

"ding dong" I walked to the door to welcome in Gray and the rest, including Eugeo.

"Where is Rani?" Gray asked.

"Up stairs." Gray then rushed upstairs.

Eugeo looked down at his watch. "Shit... it's time..." we gaped in shock.
