*~*~* Friday at school*~*~* (I know a jump but nothing really happened those few days, you just hung out with yugi and got to know him better.)

*~~* Yugi's POV*~~*

"C'mon Yug, you've been ditching us all week to be with that Midnight girl, what's going on" Joey whined, usually you thought he was funny but he's been saying pretty much the same thing everyday since you and midnight spent the afternoon talking.

"Yea yug, are you and her actually going steady or something?" Duke asked you, complete jealousy apparent in his town.

"No we are, we are just friends" You try and reasure your friends.

"Yugi, i dont think you should be around that girl" Tea said and i just looked at her confused "She's dangerous, remember those news articles? I dont want to see you get hurt because you have a big heart"

"Yea, why would ya wanna hang out wit that girl anyway, she is just a female kaiba" joey asked

"Guys she isnt that bad once you get to know her one on one, its when she is around more then one person that she closes up"

"What do you even know about her that we don't yug? She's dangerous"

"No she isnt, she's made some bad choices but people can change guys, and i just want to be there for her as she tries to find a new place to belong."

"Yea sure, saying she'll change would be like saying kaiba will change"

"You know i dont believe kaiba is all bad joey"

"Yea whatev.." Joey falls silent as he looks behind you, curious you turn around and see midnight kicking her locker. She must be having problems with it again, it seems that all this week she's been having a hard time with her combination.

"I'll see you guys around" you say as you walk over to her "Need help?" you feel your friend's watching you but you just keep watching midnight. When she turned around her fist was visibly clenched ready to swing but as she saw you she dropped her hand and gave you one of those smiles you've noticed only you can coax out of her.

"Yea yug, its jammed again."

With a laugh you walk past her and put in her locker combination that you have memorized after helping her so many times and open her locker for her. "There you go, and it didnt even need kicked." You both laugh and cant help but notice how much more beautiful she is when she actually laughs from the heart.

"Thanks again yugi, i'm running really late and this stupid thing just likes to beat me."

"What are you late for? School still has 30 minutes until it starts."

"Seto gave me another note yesterday and he wants to meet me in the library."

"So you're going to go there?"

"Yea, well as you said, if there is someone who can help me with my past i should try and find out as much as i can right?"

"Right"

"Thanks again yug." She hollared at you as she bolted away from having grabbed her stuff from the locker while you two were talking.

"Be careful" You whisper under your breath as your tristan locks his arm around your neck.

"You go yug, i've never seen her smile like that before" He said as you just kept looking in the direction she ran off in.
