The second heart turns, an unexpected reality shows up

*~~*Your POV*~~*

You ran as you never had run before. Even at your fastest you felt like it wasn’t fast enough. Yugi's tone had struck a deep blow that left you with tears blurring your vision. How could you have ever thought he understood, or even cared? He's just like all the rest that whispered sweet nothings into your ear then kicked you to the ground. You just kept running for what seemed like hours to no place in particular. The pain in your side tightened and nearly had you yelping from how much it hurt. When you stopped you found that your feet had advertently brought you back to your uncles. Looking at your watch you seen it was well on its way to 1 in the afternoon so you had been running for nearly 5 hours. Running inside you slammed your door, ignoring your uncle's worried calls and ran up to your room where you dove into bed and buried your face into your pillows. Your heart felt like it had literally been ripped from your chest and set on fire. You just laid there crying even as both your home phone and cell rang. You didn’t want to talk to anyone; you just wanted to lay there on your own.

Hearing your uncle walk into the room he picked up the only phone left ringing. "Green residence, Jack Green speaking?" he spoke and fell silent for a few moments. "Well I am sorry; she isn’t feeling up to seeing anyone right now. Either try calling tomorrow or talk to her at school." You heard him hang up the phone and walk over to you sifting through your shoulder bag. "I don’t think you want this going off again so I’ll take it down stairs with me alright." You mumble thanks to him through your pillows and he walked out of your room, to give you the time you needed. Every now and then hearing the echo ringing of your cell under the ringing of your house phone. But, you never got up to answer it; you just laid there until you eventually fell asleep.

*~~* Next Day*~*

You were walking to school, your uncle actually didn’t press you about you wishing to be on your own all night or even with the fact you wanted to walk. Your whole body still burning from the running yesterday, but you pushed forward and found the more you moved the easier it became. Sadly when you entered your first class you noticed Seto wasn’t there. You remembered how he told you during your long talk that there were times he had to miss school because of work. You just side and made your way to your seat before the bell even rang, and when yugi sat down next to you, you just huffed and ignored him looking out the window and drowning out the rest of the class. Even when it came to lunch time you just picked up a quick bite and found your way up to the roof top of the school where you sat down and ate your apple in silence. The rest of the day went on like this as every period you had with seto showed he was nowhere to be found. Finally the final bell rang and those who dressed up for p.e ran off to get showered, you just stepped off the bleachers your bags already in hand and walked out of the school and made your way home.

*~~* Fast forward 1 week*~~*

Last week went on like you had slept all the way through it. Seto never showed up to any classes, but you were hoping today he would. As you walked out of your house to walk to school, your heart skipped a beat as you seen the long black limo sitting outside your house with seto getting out of it. Running to him you fling your arms around him in a hug and smiled when you felt his strong arms wrap around you and hold you close. "If this is the greeting I get after being gone I should go away more often." His chuckle vibrating against your ear.

"No, you should stick around more but what are you doing here anyway?" You take a step from him and see him looking behind you. Turning you see your uncle leaning against the door frame of the house.

"I have permission to keep you out of school today. Your uncle seems to think a day with me will cheer you up."

"Really?" your question, in more of an excited response as you looked up to him you seen that his eyes weren’t the usual cold that you had gotten used to but they were as soft as the smile he sported was warm. It was now you realized just how handsome your Dear seto was and your cheeks flushed red.
