Chapter 15

"Remember those murders back in 2004?" Emilie nods, "Yes they were like the modern day Bonnie and Clyde." Kyrsten nods "Well not only did they rob but these two also kidnapped." Aaron looks up from the file and says "Why are we learning this?" Kyrsten pulls up a picture of them now in prison uniforms. "You know something that always threw me off about this was how Quinn never confessed to the twelve rapes and murders but confessed to killing her own son." Derek says they nod and Kyrsten notices that Jennifer is gone. "Where's Jennifer?" Aaron checks his watch "She's at home with Jack, he just got over the flu so she's staying with him today." Kyrsten nods and continues "Well their death sentence just got finalized and police thought that it would be a good idea before it goes through." Aaron nods and stands up. "Let's go."
    Jennifer lays down on the couch next to jack and brushes his hair to the side "Are you feeling better buddy?" She whispers Jack nods "I'm feeling better." Jennifer nods and grabs the remote "What do you want to watch?" Jack shakes his head, I just want to read with you mommy." Jennifer smiles alright, let me go grab your books." She gets off the couch and grabs Jack's stack of fairy tales. When she gets back their dog Sierra has taken Jennifer's old spot. Jennifer shakes her head at her and sits down on the other side of Jack "Okay, what about cinderella?" Jack nods "I like prince charming, he sounds nice." Jennifer smiles and opens the book "Once upon a time..."
    The team pulls up to the prison in Georgia. They file out of the SUV and the warden walks up "Agent Gideon?" Aaron nods and shakes the wardens hand "Their sentence is tomorrow night so I would get as much as you can today." They nod and Aaron turns to Charlie "Agent Finley and I would like to talk to Noah and Agents Kingston and Whiteman would like to talk to Quinn." The warden nods and asks "I was informed about your technical analyst is she here?" Aaron shakes his head. "She stayed behind and is working behind her own screens back in Quantico." Emilie stifles a laugh because knowing Kyrsten Allred she's probably at Jennifer's with her laptop. Aaron shoots her a knowing glance and Emilie almost laughs but she refrains. "Alright let me lead you to their cells." Emilie tilts her head "They're not in the same cell?" The warden shakes his head "No, for safety reasons we had to seperate them." Emilie looks up at Derek and he shrugs "What do you mean for safety reasons? They are inseparable." The warden shakes his head. "We had to separate them after Noah started to drown Quinn in the sink." Emilie thinks about a fact Jennifer said once "You know drowning is one of the most painful ways to die, you feel all the water flowing into your lungs and they keep you alive until the water drowns your lungs entirely." They look at Emilie and she shrugs "Jennifer told me that once." Aaron nods and they walk inside the prison. Thankfully they make it through security without any forgotten guns. They split up Charlie follows Aaron to where Noah is being held and Emilie follows Derek to where Quinnis being held.
    Aaron opens the door and sits down while Charlie tries to stand as intimidating as possible in the back corner. "You're not who I was expecting." Aaron shrugs "Who were you expecting?" Noah looks around the room and leans in "I was looking for a pretty blonde, I heard you had one." Aaron bites the inside of his cheek and leans back. "She is not a possession and besides she's back home watching over her sick kid." Noah sighs "Oh well, I guess I won't say anything." Aaron shakes his head and stands up. "Let me call her, if she can come in." He nods and Aaron and Charlie step out of the room. "I can't believe I'm doing this." Aaron whispers, he picks up his phone and calls Jennifer.
    Jennifer's phone buzzes in her pocket and she jumps at the sudden vibration. She looks to the kitchen and sees Kyrsten making Jack a bowl of cereal. "Oh you're up!" Kyrsten exclaims. Jennifer nods and pulls out her phone "One second." She says, she pulls out her phone and sees it's from Aaron. She answers "Hey what's up?" "You know those serial killers Noah and Quinn?" Jennifer nods "Yep." "Well I'm here with the team talking to them and Noah will only speak to you." Jennifer looks up to Jack who is sitting on the stool eating cereal. "Only me?" She asks not wanting to leave Jack alone. "Yes, I would get Emilie but he wants you." Jennifer nods "Alright I'm on my way." Aaron thanks her and Jennifer puts her phone back in her pocket. She stands up and walks to the kitchen "Love you buddy, be good for Kyrsten okay." Jack nods "Are you going to work." Jennifer nods "Yes I am, daddy needs my help talking to the bad guy." Jack nods "You'll be back right?" Jennifer nods "Of course," She sits down and grabs Jacks hands "Buddy you know that I do my job to protect you and your friends. I would never ever leave you, okay?" Jack nods and gives Jennifer a hug "I love you mommy." Jennifer smiles and bites her lip. "I love you to Jack, make sure to have fun with Kyrsten okay?" Jack let's go "Okay." Jennifer stands up and looks at Kyrsten "Have fun and keep him alive okay?" Kyrsten nods and Jennifer grabs her credentials and guns as she walks out the door and drives her car to the prison.
    Jennifer walks in and Aaron gives her a hug. "I'm really sorry." She nods "It's alright Kyrsten's there." He nods and says "Do you know how you're going to play this?" She nods and takes her hair about of the ponytail and ties her t-shirt in the front. "He's in this room?" she asks smoothing her hair down. He nods and she walks in. "Well hello there. What's your name?" Jennifer smiles and stands in the corner where Charlie was standing earlier. "My friends call me Jenn." He bows while sitting back down "Well then, hello Jenn." Jennifer shakes her head "You're not my friend, you can call me
Jennifer." He turns his head "Ouch." Jennifer smiles and sits down "You like girls like me. You know see them on the bus, think 'Damn' and follow them off and kidnap them." He shakes his head "That's not how it went." Jennifer leans back and puts her feet up on the table. "Then tell me how it went." He leans forward and whispers "You got the bus part right but I talked to them and they followed me." Jennifer takes her feet off of the desk and leans forward "Really?" He nods "They followed me to my backyard and into my little workshop." Jennifer nods egging him on. "Oh and when they got in the workshop the light hit their hair just right it shined. Then I closed the door and had them give me everything, including their clothes. They smelled so sweet my favorite was Zoe, she smelt like cotton candy. It's a shame they had to go." Jennifer leans in a bit closer and he shudders "You smell like spring flowers," he leans closer and Jennifer pulls back "You know what's a shame, is that Zoe was never found." He shrugs I buried them all in my workshop. Jennifer shakes her head "Except for Zoe, I don't like liars. You didn't bury Zoe, Quinn did." He shoots back stunned "How did you know?"  "The way you act, I analyze behavior Zoe was different and she still hasn't been found." He stands up and starts to protest but Jennifer shakes her head and points back to the chair "Sit Back Down." He sits and she walks out of the room, untying her shirt and pulling her hair back into her ponytail. "What do you think happened to Zoe?" Jennifer looks back to the room and sees Noah through the window "I have a pretty good idea but I need to talk to Quinn." Without another word Jennifer jogs down the hallway to Quinn's cell.
    Jennifer sees Emilie and Derek standing outside the cell and Emilie runs up to her and gives her a hug, "Do you know how to talk to her?" Derek asks, Jennifer nods "I need to go in alone though." They nod and Derek opens the door for her. "Thanks." Derek nods and Jennifer motions to the stool across from Quinn "My names Jennifer, May I?" Quinn smiles and nods "Yes, I'm Quinn, thank you for asking." Jennifer nods and sits down. "How are you?" Quinn asks, Jennifer smiles "Good thank you, how about you?" Quinn shrugs "Eh I could be better." Jennifer looks at the painting on the wall. "That's cute." Quinn nods "Thank you." Jennifer looks at the painting and sees a blonde girl running through the field of flowers. "Who's the girl?" Jennifer asks, Quinn looks at the picture and then back to Jennifer "I don't know, just someone I made up." Jennifer nods and notices the paint brushes and paints scattered around. "So you like to paint?" Jennifer asks Quinn nods "I like to paint things, it helps me calm myself down." Jennifer nods and looks at Quinn's wrists but plays it off by tying her shoes. "Can I ask you about why you got separated from Noah?" Quinn nods "Why did you guys get separated?" Quinn looks to the sink "He tried to drown me in the kitchen sink, I was doing kitchen duty and washing the dishes. he came up behind me and shoved my head in the water." Jennifer nods "Do you know why he would do that?" She opens her mouth to speak but closes it when she hears Noah screaming for Jennifer. "Why is he yelling for you?" Quinn asks Jennifer shakes her head and says "I talked to him first to see if I could get anything out of him, he got annoying so I came here to have a nice conversation instead of me yelling at him." She nods "He always was that way." Jennifer nods "You were going to say something?" Quinn shakes her head "No, not really." Jennifer nods "One last question and I'll leave you, do you know what happened to Zoe?" Quinn looks at the painting for a split second and the back to Jennifer "No, may I ask you a question?" Jennifer nods "Yeah." Quinn looks at Jennifer's wedding ring "Well two actually." Jennifer smiles "Of course." Quinn smiles "Does he treat you right?" Jennifer smiles "Yes, he protects me all the time." Quinn smiles "What is your sons name?" Jennifer nods "His name is Jack, he's two." Quinn nods "Would you do anything for him?" Jennifer nods "Of course." Quinn nods and meets Jennifer's eyes "You seem like a smart girl Jennifer, when you figure it out you'll know why I did it." Jennifer nods "Thank you for talking to me." Quinn nods and Jennifer stands up and walks to the door and steps out shutting it behind her. The second the door closes Jennifer's mind starts racing with all of the possibilities.
    Emilie looks at Jennifer who just walked in "How'd it-" Jennifer walks past them mumbling to herself as she completely erases the whiteboard. Emilie looks at Aaron and he just keeps looking at Jennifer who is writing things on the board. Jennifer steps back after she's written everything down on the board. "Jennifer what is it?" Aaron asks Jennifer keeps staring at the board "Quinn said something and I know I have heard it somewhere." Aaron looks at the board and at Jennifer's quick cursive letters. "What is it?" Emilie asks Jennifer shakes her head "I don't know but I am going to figure it out in the hour I swear."
    Kyrsten walks slowly around the kitchen looking for Jack "Jack? Where are you?" Kyrsten bears a laugh from the living room. "Oh no I can't find you!" Kyrsten says walking slower towards the living room. Jack giggles even more and Kyrsten lays down my the couch. "Got you!" She exclaimed pulling Jack out from under the couch "Now you hide!" Jack says laughing. Kyrsten nods "Okay I'll go hide." Jack starts counting and Kyrsten walks into the kitchen and opens the pantry door. She slides in and shuts the door behind her. Jack soon yells "Ready or not... I'm going to find you!" Kyrsten stifles a laugh as she hears Jacks little feet running across the kitchen floor. A few minutes later Jack opens the pantry door "I found you!" Kyrsten smiles and hears her phone ring. "Okay one second." She picks Jack up and picks up the phone. "Yes?" Jennifer's voice answers "Kyrsten are you by your laptop? I need you to give me medical records on Quinn." Kyrsten nods and sets Jack on the couch next to her as she opens her laptops "Okay, give me a second. So she has gone to the hospital for several suicide attempts, and... Oh god." "What is it Kyrsten?" Jennifer asks. "Quinn had a baby girl, It's Zoe." Jennifer nods "Thank you so much Kyrsten." Kyrsten nods and Jennifer hangs up. Kyrsten looks at Jack and he says "Can we watch a movie?" Kyrsten nods and grabs the remote.
    Jennifer runs back to Quinn's cell. "I figured it out." Jennifer says as the door opens "I knew you would." Quinn says, she looks to the clock, I'm scheduled in five minutes." Jennifer shakes her head "Quinn why didn't you say anything?" Quinn shakes her head "I was sacred." Jennifer nods "Trust me I know the feeling of wanting to go after a round of abuse, but you can say something now and go raise your daughter." Quinn looks at Jennifer "Jennifer you have been so great to meet, but Zoe barely knows me. I can't just tell her that I'm her mother." Jennifer meets Quinn's eyes pleading. "Please Quinn, you never were guilty so why take the death penalty." Quinn bites her lip "Jennifer I'm sorry." Jennifer tears up and shakes her head "Please we can do something." Quinn shakes her head. "Jennifer thank you, so much, for everything. The one thing you can do for me is that when you tell Jack a bedtime story tell him mine." a tear falls down Jennifer's face "Okay, I can do that." Quinn nods "Can you also be there for me?" Jennifer nods "Of course." An officer walks in "It's time." Jennifer nods and helps Quinn up. They take her to get her head shaved, and to her last meal. Soon it's time for her to leave. They walk into the room and Jennifer sits in the front middle of the viewing room. Tears fall down her face as they put the hat on Quinn. Quinn gives Jennifer a comforting smile as they shut the curtains.
    Jennifer and Aaron get home and Jennifer picks up Jack "Can we read a story?" Jennifer shakes her head "I'm going to tell you a story." Jack smiles and Jennifer tucks him into bed "Once upon a time there was a young girl who fell in love with a man..."
    There's nothing like a really loyal, dependable, good friend. Nothing. -Jennifer Aniston
