It’s been four months since Gerard proposed to me in the Staples Arena with our closest friends. Piper had gone home to her husband; which was insane to think of, and Lindsey and Jessica went back on tour with their bands.
Now, it was time to go back home. We were going home to New Jersey to tell his parents the news and let me meet them while we were on break from touring. I had never met his parents oddly enough, even though Gee and I had been together for 10 months.
My phone started screeching loudly at me, telling me someone was calling me; I looked at my screen and saw that it was Lindsey, who wanted to facetime. I clicked the green answer button and Lindsey’s smiling face looked at me enthusiastically.
“Hello Mrs. Way! How are you today? Hey, that rhymed!” She giggled. She was adorable.
“Why, hello Miss. Ballato. I am just dandy. Packing up to go to New Jersey after the concert tonight in France.”
“Ooooh, exciting! Are you nervous?” She seemed concerned, knowing it would be my first time home in 11 years.
“I’m doing okay, I’m excited to meet the Way’s, but it’s going to be hard being back in New Jersey. I swore I would never go back there after what happened with Kevin.” I said using my brother’s name.
“I bet, but hey, you’ll be fine! You will have the guys with you, and you’ll get to meet Jamia and Alicia! They’re really great!” I had forgotten about Mikey and Franks wives.
“And you can see Mikey again! I’m sure you miss him!” She was right, I did miss Mikey, and he’d been taking a break from the tour to get settled with his new wife Alicia. It’s a surprise I had yet to meet her. But I had heard wonderful things of her and Jamia.
“I am, I’m excited to meet everyone and give our news to the rest of the family.”
“Well, I am sure they will all love you! I have to go; I got to be on stage in 20 minutes! I love you, stay weird!” She smiled and waved, then hung up.

Standing on the sidelines at My Chem’s shows had to be one of my favorite things. The show was always different and exciting. Every night they poured all of their energy into their set and amazed everyone in the crowd. Seeing all the people who loved my fiancée’s- it’s still so weird (but a good weird) calling him that- band, and hearing all of their stories of how My Chemical Romance had helped them was inspiring. The guys loved hearing about their fans lives and knowing that they made an impact on them, just like they had me.
It was nearing the end of the concert, with only two songs left; Welcome to the Black Parade, and Dead! The crowd was screaming so loud that my ears run, when Gerard paused between songs to say something. Everyone instantly got quiet.
“How that fuck are you, France?” He asked into his microphone, pacing the stage as he spoke. The building erupted with cheers.
“That’s great! We missed you, you sexy mother fuckers!”
Again, the audience cheered and some even wolf-whistled.
“Tonight is our last show before we go on a very important break.” He stated as the guys smiled behind him.
Gerard looked at me, “Hey, Stormy, Come out here, would you?” He held his hand out for me to take. I obliged.
“This beautiful woman standing next to me,” he gestured towards me, pulling me into his side. “Is my fucking amazing, sexy fiancée. Everyone, meet Stormy.” I blushed and smiled, fixing my black tank top.
