Sammy Lawrence
The morning was very tense. Everyone stayed away from each other except Henry and Edgar. Sammy had asked Wally if he knew anything, but he'd gone teary-eyed and walked away. They even had breakfast separated from each other. Last night Sammy and Henry had fought with each other, and Henry kept shooting scornful glances at him.
Henry had stayed up all night, jumping at the slightest sound. Sammy told him to sleep, but Henry turned right around and began asking him question after question. Sammy had told him that it should wait until morning, and it resulted in a huge angry outbreak from Henry, and Sammy reacted as he shouldn't have.
Wally had stayed in bed after breakfast and kept talking with himself and rocking slowly back and forth with his arms crossed over his knees. Edgar was having a heated discussion with Henry about something that Sammy didn't know about, but he saw them exchanging papers and various photos. Once in a great while, one of them would look over at Sammy.
Sammy himself was busy taking patrols, but he was uncertain whether he could leave the three of them alone. He kept a watchful eye over them while taking mental notes of some words between Wally and Henry, and sometimes Edgar. He'd notice that Wally was only staying away from Henry and didn't mind anyone else. Edgar seemed peeved with Henry about something, and was glaring at him anytime he mentioned Wally.
After a few hours, Sammy was fed up with the tension.
"Alright, I need all of you here now," he yelled. Wally and Henry exchanged annoyed looks, but followed instructions. Edgar was the first to sit at the table. She seemed bored and had her head rested in her arms. Wally and Henry sat at opposite ends. Sammy stood at the side with his arms crossed.
"Now, I've noticed that all of you seem angry with each other for some reason, and I want to know why. Tension can be a bad thing, especially when you're all stuck together for a possible eternity." Everyone looked down at the floor. Edgar started doing sign language but stopped when Sammy held up his hand.
"Anyone want to translate, or are you going to explain for her?"
"I'll explain," Wally offered. Henry made an absolutely disgusted look. "Last night, after you left for patrol, Henry went to Edgar's room and didn't come back until just a few minutes before you came back." He paused to take a deep breath. "There were some things said between us that shouldn't have been said."
Wally's voice began to become choked with tears. He looked away from everyone and wiped his eyes.
"I have a feeling it wasn't you who said them," Sammy said to him, and Wally nodded sadly. Sammy looked at Henry, who was avoiding his gaze. "What's your side of the story?"
Wally looked up with a glare. Henry shot one back.
"He's been on my ass since I came here. I just wanted to spend some time with Edgar to get some answers, and there he is, following us and making jokes about us liking each other, and when I finally did get alone time with her, she told me about how both of you are keeping secrets from me that I think are worth telling," he said. Wally stood up in anger, but Sammy pushed him back down. "And," Henry continued, pointing at Wally, "he's been keeping secrets of his own. "
"They're kept secret for a reason," Sammy remarked.
"Oh, sure! And next you'll be telling me that all this isn't real, and that I'll wake up eventually back at home like nothing happened!"
Edgar began signing, but was ignored.
"I think since I'm stuck down here, I deserve some answers!"
