Chapter 10
According to Jenna's mother, Jenna hadn't been home since we left for the wedding.
"Well, she must've stayed the night with Liz or Riley. I'm sure she's fine. Do you mind if I go get my things and return the dress to her room?" I asked.
"Not at all, Honey, go right ahead. I'm going to try to call her again. Thanks for bringing her things back."
"It's no problem. Brendon, if she manages to reach Jenna come get me, I'll be down soon. If you don't get word, Mrs. Lewis, I'll go out with Brendon and we'll look for her."
"Thank you, darling," she smiled at me as I left. I threw everything but a pair of jeans and a long sleeve shirt in my bag and ran back downstairs with everything after I was dressed.
"Anything?" I asked, dragging my bag to the door.
"Nothing but voicemail, I can't tell if it's deliberate or not," Mrs. Lewis looked especially worried now.
"Don't worry," Brendon said reassuringly to her before giving her a warm hug, "we'll find her and she'll be perfectly fine."
He smiled as he walked towards me and we left for the car, promising to call if we heard anything.
"So, we'll go back to the room and drop these off, when we're back in the car I'll start calling and see If we can get a hold of her. There's a possibility she just wasn't answering for her mother because she did something stupid," I said.
"Sounds good, I'll run your bags up and then we'll be back on the way," he said, stopping the car and getting my stuff out and going to the room. I got my phone out just as he got back in the car and dialed Jenna's number, putting it on speaker. Just before it hit voicemail there was an answer.
"Hello?" a man said into the phone. The voice was familiar but I couldn't quite place it. Brendon, on the other hand, knew exactly who it was.
"Ryan?"
"Yes, can I help you? Brendon?" he said, surprise in his voice at Brendon answering.
"Where's Jenna?" I spoke up.
"In the Jacuzzi, she's been very at ease and I didn't want her to have to answer the phone. I also didn't want to talk to her mother."
"In the tub all morning? She doesn't even like baths," I said shocked.
"It was a long night and she figured she'd give it a try while she had the chance," Ryan laughed.
"Where are you? Her mother is worried sick and on the verge of a breakdown. We at least want her to talk to her mom on the phone so she knows everything is OK," Brendon said.
"The W, room 740. I'll tell her you're coming. See ya soon," Ryan said and hung up.
"Well, that takes care of that, and we're about a block from there. Turn right here and then the next left and then you'll see the sign," I said. Brendon parked and we walked into the posh hotel.
When we found the room the door was cracked so that we could enter on our own, which seems funny. We came in and Jenna got up off the couch upon seeing us. She took me into the bedroom and Brendon stayed out with Ryan.
"What's up? Normally you're out before your mom even has a chance to know you were missing."
"I know, I lost track of time and Ryan was just so interesting, I had to stay around."
