Chapter 5

I awoke to the sound of the TV on and the feeling of my hair being gently stroked. I opened my eyes and saw Brendon, eyes glued to the screen. A moment later he looked down to see me awake and grinned.

"Good evening, Sleeping Beauty," he chuckled.

"It's been that long? I thought it was like an hour," I said sleepily and stretched.

"Try 3, at least," he said, turning off the TV as I sat up.

"Well, since you're here we might as well talk. Jenna brought up some things when I was talking to her that concern you."

"Ah-ha, what are these point?"

"Well, first off, she want to stay here with us on Friday if you're okay with that," I waited for his response.

"Ok, but if she fan girls or anything I'm kicking her out."

"She's not a fan girl, no worries."

"What else is there?"

"You know Sarah?"

"Orzechowski? Of course, why?"

"You might want to check her Twitter," I said. He looked concerned.

"Can't, she blocked me. Why?"

I grabbed the laptop and went to her page then handed Brendon the computer. He scrolled through the tweets, I could see his face going read with each one.

"Fucking bitch!" he said in a stage whisper, "Where's a phone, I gotta call Dallon and get her number. She of all people shouldn't be doing this," he was angry. Angrier than when he thought I'd been using him. It was borderline terrifying.

"Dallon, yeah, I don't care what you're doing right now it's important..." he paused for a second, "Thank you, you have Sarah's new number right?... Bullshit, bro, I know you do. I need it... No I'm not going to yell at her! Jesus, stop trying to protect her, she's not the innocent victim! She's threatening Faith, it's important," he finished; by the look on his face he's gotten the number. He hung up without saying bye and dialed another number.

"Hi Sarah, it's Brendon," he paused, she spoke and he rolled his eyes, "You hang up and I will find out where you live to talk to you," he said and walked off to another room. I grabbed my cell phone off the table and texted Jenna that it was all good for her to come and that we'd pick her up from the airport. Finally the suspense to see the content of the Twitter replies got to me. I opened the page and, unlike what I'd been expecting, it was a bunch of friends who'd figured out I was dating Brendon telling me to look at Sarah's page and some spam. I laughed at myself for thinking it would have been haters, especially considering that no one knew my full name and I had like 50 followers, mainly friends.

A half-hour later Brendon came back out, setting the phone down and coming back to sit down next to me.

"Well, how did that go?" I asked, leaning into his side as he put his arm around my shoulders.

"Better than I expected. She seemed to actually be listening to what I was saying, I don't know how much she'll actually follow through with what I asked, but I'm hoping she will."

"Did she apologize?"

"Depends on what you view an apology is, does 'Then get the hell off the TV' count?"
