Jenya Mössi stared at the large oak tree as the two older boys expertly climbed it. She could feel her heartbeat thundering against her chest as she uttered, "I-I can't."

Two heads turned towards the small five-year-old girl, one dark haired and the other lighter.

"Ah, Jen, if Kat can do it you can!" The lighter haired one, Tyler, said as he adjusted himself on a branch. Tyler, her own brother, knew far too well that his sister was not as accustomed to trees as her younger friend, Kat. He just liked to tease her. It wasn't her fault that their home in Italy had no trees.

"Come on Jenibean." The darker headed boy, Lukas, called down to her, throwing her a charming smile.

"Lukas, I can't." She replied again. Lukas frowned, "Why not?"

Tyler huffed, "She's being a baby. Lukas, come on, no one needs a girl."

"I can't climb." She complained. The two boys laughed at her silly words, believing it virtually impossible for someone not being able to climb.

"Come on, Jenibean, I'll teach you." Lukas offered, starting to make his way down the tree once more. Jenya smiled at him in thanks as he started to show her where to step directly.

"Jenya," She heard Lukas call to her. She turned in the direction of the voice and her smile faded.

Instead of seeing the familiar little boy, she saw the older version; the one who wore skinny jeans and tight shirts that showed off his muscles. The one that she left so she could attend her school. The one she that broke her heart.

"Come home, Jenibean." He pleaded, his soft hazel eyes burning holes in her own.

"I-I can't."

"Jenya Mössi!" She heard a sharp voice snap at her, jolting her out of her dream.

Jenya sat up and looked around at her surroundings before smiling up at her impatient professor, "Ms. Paluchi, I swear I did the exam."

The teacher glared down at her, "Did you now?" She held up the exam in her hand, still blank, "Jenya, you didn't even sign the cheating policy."

Jenya felt her heart sink as she watched Ms. Paluchi step over to her desk, "I will be sending your parents a detailed email, Jenya, about your behavior today. I don't understand why-"

Jenya's phone went off, suddenly, saving her from the wrath of her teacher.

"Crap, I- I have to go!" Jenya grabbed her bag, quickly.

"Ms. Mössi!" The teacher called behind her, but Jenya was already gone.

She sprinted towards the courtyard, pushing past people until she finally saw what she was looking for- the blond-haired girl waiting for her.

The girl, Payton, turned around, her green eyes practically glaring at her, "There you are! I thought you would never come."

Jenya sat down next to her and sighed, "Well, I would have been here earlier if I hadn't been up all night wondering how this summer was going to go. You got what I wanted?"

Payton tossed her the bottle of pills she had kindly snatched for Jenya earlier that day. Jenya felt a surge of relief as she stuffed the drugs into her bag, "Thanks. This will help tremendously."

Payton shrugged, "It's not just my family job. What happened between you two anyways?"

Jenya closed her eyes, feeling a migraine come on, "I was stupid."

Payton snorted, "Ain't we all, Jen?"

Jenya glared at her, "I fell for him, I was so stupid. He got down on his knees and told me how much he loved me and how we'd always be together and how we would have so much together. And I fell into his trap."

Their eyes met, icy blue ones on Payton's green ones," And his trap was?"

Just before Jenya could say something, the familiar sports car rolled up, windows rolled down and music up, "Afternoon ladies."

The two girls stood, one giggling and the other rolling her eyes, as the car came to a complete stop.

Her brother leaned out the car window, his grey eyes staring right into Payton's. And queue Payton's slut mode. Jenya thought to herself.

"How have you been, Miss. Payton?" He asked, flashing her a charming smile.

Payton smiled back, "Just fine. I like your car, is it new?" Her fingers trailed around the edges of the shiny convertible as she leaned over, giving Tyler a clear view down her shirt.

Jenya rolled her eyes, knowing that when Payton had asked about the car, her brother would tell her all about his money and his need for expensive things, such as his car.

Jenya pushed her best friend lightly out of the way and got into the front seat, "Actually, he doesn't have time to talk, Pay. We have to get to the house before my parents do, right Tyler?"

Tyler grunted, "I'll see you around, Pay."

With that, Ty out the car into drive and pulled out of the school lot. "You know, just because you are having a bad day, doesn't mean you can ruin mine, your majesty."

Jenya looked at him, "You didn't have to flirt with my best friend. She's not just another girl that can give you a notch in your belt."

"This isn't about Lukas, is it?" Ty asked as he looked at her.

Jenya's eyes narrowed, "What do you mean?"

Her brother signed and turned back to his driving, "Jenya, I'm not stupid, something happened between you and Lukas. And I actually do care, because no matter how good of a friend he is to us, your my little sister and they come first."

Jenya turned towards the window as she pulled out a cigerette and lit it, "Just drive."
