Max got up and ran to his room to play video games with Nikki and Neil. David finished cleaning up and made a quick call to ask someone to watch max for two hours or so after that was done he got dressed in his bedroom David put on a green shirt with a knitted vest with light brown pants Gwen got some clothes that she forgot at one point and got dressed in the bathroom a few minutes later David heard a knock it was the babysitter David let them in and sat on the couch waiting for Gwen a few minutes later Gwen came out in a red t-shirt with a skull on it and long jean shorts Gwen came out and saw what David was wearing "you are not wearing that you look like a suburban dad who secretly hates there wife and kids" David looked down at his outfit and blushed embarrassed he got up and ran to his room and put on a blue shirt with jeans and black shoes David rushed out again "Is this better?" David stood in front of Gwen and she nodded David went to Max's room and said by David and Gwen went to the car and drove off to the bowling alley

David and Gwen got out of the car and went inside and paid for a lane it was about $12 in all not to bad they went to the lane and put on their bowling shoes on and set everything up Gwen went first and knocked down 3 pins her seconded time she didn't knock any of them down next David went and knocked down 4 his first time and one his second "So how has max been Since he moved in with you" Gwen said sitting down at the table in front of the lane "good max has been distant but during the first week he cried in my arms I don't know what happened" David stood by the ball machine waiting for his ball "Well you know max he doesn't really open up that much and that was a really sad time for him he needed some comforting" David held his head down sadly "Oh..." David got his ball and bowled not knocking any down and the second time to David sat down and Didn't talk "what's up" David sighed "I thought the reason max was like that was because he liked me and was happy he was my son" David folded his hands "David just because he did that doesn't mean he wants you as a dad any less" after that David cheered up and they finished the game then they put on their shoes and gave the others back and left

Max turned off the Xbox sad they both had to leave max heard the door open and peeked out his door it was David and Gwen "Hey thanks for watching max" David took out $20 and gave it to her then started to go down to Max's room to talk to him Max jumped on his bed and pretend to sleep to avoid talking to him David opened the door and saw max asleep and turned off the light after David left max sat up on his bed and put Mr honneynuts in his arm and snuggled him sitting up and looked at the time it was only 8 in the morning they where gone for about 2 hours "Mr honneynuts lets get out of here max got up and went out of his room and stood in the doorway of the hallway until David saw him "Oh hey max you're up come sit with us" David and Gwen was watching wander over yonder max walked slowly over and sat down Max sat down next to Gwen and watched with them Max Enjoyed it he never got to watch more than 10 minutes a day watching tv his dad always watched the game or some kind of R rated show after max got tired of that he got up and went outside

Max looked out amongst the backyard the grass was cut to a good level and the fence was a bright white and a rusty swing sat at the other end of the backyard max walked over too it and sat down and swung and took in the view which there really wasn't one max kept swinging until he heard a voice from behind him yell "hey!" Max stopped the swing and turned his torso around to where he could see the person "yeah" The girl pointed to the steps in front of max by he looked to where she was pointing and saw a ball max rolled his eyes and got up and got it for her "thank you I am addy by the way" addy smiled retrieving the ball from the angry boys hands "i don't really care" max started to walk back "hey come back I need to ask you something" max turned around dramatically angered
"What now" max looked at addy madly addy glared at him "are you Davids cousin or something?" Max rolled his eyes again
"No now leave me alone" and stormed off into the house

Max went into his room and slammed the door shut David heard it and went to check on him David knocked on the door lightly "what"max said sounding annoyed "what happened" max didn't say anything and just kept quiet David left him alone to avoid an argument and soon a knock was heard at the door David answered it "oh hi addy need something" addy sighed "yeah that boy walked in here and i wanted to say sorry" David let her in and motioned for her to sit on the couch addy walked over looking at David "i think he wants to be alone right now, what happened?" David said questioningly
"I just asked him if he was your cousin that's all" addy didn't know what to do so she kicked her feet "oh well see max is my adoptive son i adopted him about a month ago before the school year started and he's still sensitive about it" David stopped talking and looked into the hallway he thought he heard max so he got up and checked addy fallowed David didn't hear anything so he thought he might have cooled off so he knocked on the door no response he knocked again but no response he looked down at addy "sorry maybe tomorrow" David walked her down the hall addy left and ran home after David then watched a little bit more tv until Gwen had to leave he got ready for bed before he got into bed he knocked one last time still no response David turned the handle but it was locked he got out his key to the door and opened it and looked around he didn't see max so he went in and looked but didn't see him anywhere he went to his bed and found a note
